We appreciated seeing this value in Han Gao’s work for Démi Bai — “After a certain amount of squeezing, scraping, pouring, and emptying, even the most well-designed toothpaste tubes and pantry products start to look far from advertised.” Could promoting the aesthetics of wear lengthen people's satisfaction of using a product?

Foxtrot is a new retail concept in Chicago — a sort of modern convenience store that blends high quality items with essential low cost staples. What’s interesting is that the shop has leveraged its good curation and atmosphere to enter the private label industry — creating products that solve data driven gaps in their offering. This article points out that most retailers carry the same product, and therefore private label items are a critical way to stand out in both product offering and marketing platforms, where authentic storytelling is highly valued and drives consumption. Hæckels is on a mission to revolutionize skincare. Their new packaging, launched this month, is made from Vivomer — “a brand new bio-polymer made by microbes that is home compostable — yes, the good kind — in under 52 weeks.” We are thrilled to see this groundbreaking material implemented at scale, and look forward to Hæckels Lab launching next month.
