"Cantina Band," The Courtyard Kings

Tuesday was May the Fourth, which of course has become "obligatory Star Wars content day" for pretty much every company around. "The Sounds of Star Wars" - J.W. Rinzler
For all of the influence Star Wars has had on pop culture in the past 44 years, sound designer Ben Burtt might just have had the most impact. Think of all the iconic sounds: the light sabers, the Wookie roars, the TIE fighters, R2D2... and then take a moment to realize that one person had to invent those sounds from scratch, with what now seems like incredibly primitive equipment. This interactive book is worth hunting down if for no other reason than to find out which creature's voice is built off of the sound of a raccoon in a bathtub.
