You are invited to contribute to our 5-year Strategic Plan

We believe that the BCN network is the foundation of who we are. Each group, organisation and agency is an important and valuable stakeholder. We strive to always hear your voice.

We invite you to participate in the formation of our five-year strategic plan.
This strategic plan will be a document identifying what are our organisational goals and priorities, what we want to achieve in the future and how we can get there. We aim to have this plan complete by March 2022 and for it to be our planning document for the years 2023-27.
What is the purpose of this plan?
BCN has grown significantly over the last 5 years. It is now appropriate to develop a guiding document to help direct our initiatives, projects, funding opportunities and collaborations. We want the plan to provide focus for our organisation which will increase our efficiency and effectiveness. All stakeholders will have the opportunity to contribute at multiple points. Once complete, the plan will be made publicly available via our website.
What do we hope to achieve?
With involvement from all our stakeholders, we will incorporate a wide range of ideas and feedback to achieve the following within this plan:

1. A summary of who we are as an organisation;
2. Refine our strategic vision and mission;
3. Detail our organisational values;
4. Map out organisational goals and objectives for the next 5 years;
5. Confirm operational structure for delivering Network goals; and
6. Identify and detail measures of success.

The following is the Vision from our Action Plan (2009-2014). It is time to revisit and review it:
Previous Action Plan Vision: “The Bellarine Catchment Network region will work towards healthy, well connected and resilient wetlands, waterways and native vegetation ecosystems; sustainable agricultural and land management practices; and a community which is engaged and involved in protecting and managing the natural environment."

This vision is reflected in our current constitution or rules as our Statement of Purpose with an additional statement about "minimising threatening processes” (adopted with changes to Rules in 2021).

Is this vision relevant for this strategic plan and does it reflect current priorities? This plan is your opportunity to have a say.
You are invited to a network-wide workshop

Each network group, organisation or agency is invited to attend a ½ day workshop with BCN. This workshop will be facilitated by an external contractor to provide independent guidance and structure. Each group, organisation or agency can bring 1-2 representatives and must register via Eventbrite by Wednesday the 1st of December. If your group is not able to be represented on the day, we will make sure that you have an opportunity to provide feedback via email or phone.
Register to the workshop here
