The Greenwich, Westport/Weston and the New Canaan YMCAs have big plans for the program this fall. Meet some of the instructors that will be teaching classes including Brenda Waldron Rock Steady boxing certified instructor. Also, a discussion about what you would like to see included to help this be the best exercise and wellness program for you.

Tuesday August 24th Dr. Caroline Tanner, MD PhD is recruiting for a new clinical trial led by a team of Parkinson’s experts at UCSF in partnership with researchers from across the country. The goal of the study is to help people with Parkinson’s disease or parkinsonism maintain their independence by reducing the risk of hip fractures.

What is the BrainWellness Program?

AGING is a neurodegenerative condition much like Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease (just at a slower and more benign pace). The BrainWellness Program is a multidisciplinary program aimed at optimizing your healthspan (the number of years you live healthfully and able to stay mentally, socially and physically active), minimizing the underlying conditions contributing neurodegenerative disease, and slowing the progression of established neurodegenerative illness. More importantly, it is about giving you the tools to understand the answers to the above questions and continue to evolve your lifestyle to maximize your brain health as long as you live!  Read more...
This is the first in a series of “sneak peek” pieces from the sixth edition of the Every Victory Counts® manual, which will be released this September.
