Since opening May 10, 2020, CCEDUC, in the Yumbe District of Northern Uganda, has become TCP Global's largest program-- 20% of all TCP Global loan sites

Loan transactions are in the open for full transparency.

On the first 660 loans worth  $81,500, no one has missed a payment.

Within their 30  member savings group, everyone knows who gets loans and for what amount.

Average loan: $122
There are  27 Women's Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) affiliated with CCEDUC in Uganda. They don't have bank accounts. Some sign with a thumb print but they are experienced in managing loan programs from their combined savings.

Less than a year after opening its first TCP Global sites, CCEDUC gained permission from the Uganda government to open programs in the Bidibidi refugee camp.

CCEDUC bought a motor bike to make the 15 kilometer journey on dirt roads to work with the refugee women.

Nearly 300,000 people live in the camp.

TCP Global now has 6 Bidibidi loan programs with demand for many more.
TCP Global met 22 very grateful group leaders on May 14th  by zoom.

The had a request: "Add more groups."

Funds are now on the way for 5 more.

Zubeda got a loan of $166 in the first group on 5-10-20.  Daily sales for her market produce stand increased from $14 to $28 allowing her to save $3.00 per day.
Zubeda used part of her savings to buy a cow which is ready to give her a calf.

Zubeda is part of the Ama Ichora Women's Village Savings and Loan Association.

With her first loan of $30, Candiru's daily profit more than doubled. She has enough to feed her family and was able to buy a goat with her savings.

Due to Covid concerns, a TCP Global visit in May was postponed to next January. By then, the 900 tee-shirts ordered for the celebration may not be enough.

How you can support TCP Global:

1) Connect us with potential loan partners in marginalized communities like Michelle did in Nepal.

2) Forward this notice so others can learn from a TCP Global borrower how a little capital can have a huge impact.

3) Volunteer to mentor a loan program in a country you know well like Elyse does.

4) Make a
donation like
Friends of Colombia and Nepal and RPCVs of Chicago, Kansas City, Long Island and Madison-Wisconsin.
Until Peace Corps is back in the field and Partnership Projects are available, TCP Global is a great alternative for supporting
Peace Corps communities around the world.
