Entrepreneurs Abound in the Sudanese BidiBidi Refugee Camp in Uganda 11-4-21

Margret sells fish in the BidiBidi Refugee camp. After a 400,000 UGX loan helped her expand her business, she saved 180,000 UGX  in 5 months.

She used 80,000 UGX to buy a goat and 30,000 to by a pair of ducks that produced 10 ducklings. She spent the last 70,000 UGX on a maize and sorghum garden.
Now she says she has additional food for her family which is fortunate since the World Food Program reduced the ration. "Thank God for bring us TCP Global program"
SALAMA belongs to Join Together women's group. Within 3 months of receiving a loan, she saved enough to buy a goat.  

Her goat is now quite pregnant.

None of the women's group in the BidiBidi Refugee camp have an international bank account or internet capabilities to partner with TCP Global. CCEDUC serves as fiscal agent and handles monthly reports. In return, CCEDUC receives a portion of the program earnings to supports its community projects -- a win-win. 

 Chandiru of Join Together women's group used a $170 loan to improve her food sales business in the main market of BidiBidi Refugee camp. She then was able to save $1 per day.


Within 5 months she had enough to open a second business selling earrings and toys. She says "Thanks a lot for CCEDUC to bring TCP Global program to the disadvantaged Refugee women" .
In October, CCEDUC used $1500 in earnings to open a 7th BidiBidi program. TCP Global will provide $7500 to build the loan pool to the optimal size. The first 6 BidiBidi sites supported 215 loans worth $24,000 to 170 borrowers with $14,000 received from TCP Global. 
Poni Rose of GOD with US  group is a South Sudanese refugee widow. She says "I appreciate TCP Global program in the Refugee settlement, thanks a lot for CCEDUC to coordinate the program. We pray for more support in the future as the war in South Sudan still continues." 

A $120 loan helped her improve her market sales enough to save $70 in 5 months.  She invested $56 in computer training for her oldest son, Nelson and used the remainder to provide extra food for her family.
ABRIA is a member of the God With Us women's group. With a $113 loan, she expanded her business selling clothes and food items. Within 5 months she saved enough to start building an Iron roofed house. "I thank TCP Global and CCEDUC for bring this unique system to support the disadvantaged women up to the refugee settlement, and pray the system continue such that I finish my house."  
Sony sells food items in the main market and improved her business after a loan of $100. With her increased earnings she bought 14 tea cups, bowls, trays, and plates so she can again serve visitors. She says "This has improved my family life."  
"I pray more refugee women should benefit from this program."
