Geographically TCP Global has come a long way while staying close to its roots -- empowering marginalized entrepreneurs, helping underserved communities and working through the Peace Corps network. Of the forty-four currently active loan sites, all but three were introduced by (R)PCVS.
It started at this April, 2000 round table discussion in Bogota. Returned Peace Corps Volunteers learned that micro-loans could help displaced Colombians reestablish financial security. The Colombia Project improved and tested its micro-loan model over 14 years before evolving as TCP Global in 2015.

Since 2015, AGROVIDA in Peru issued 210 loans worth $150,000, primarily for agriculture. They used $31,000 in program earnings to reforest mountainsides to prevent landslides, to retrain people whose livelihoods were lost in natural disasters, and for an erosion control/irrigation system to open new croplands in the mountains for these farmers.
This team guided The Colombia Project/TCP Global for 19 successful years.
New members brought new energy, skills and connections in 2020 and 27 new sites were added, to achieve a significant milestone:

Loans to Date = $1 Million

Not bad for a zero-overhead, 100% volunteer effort.
Thanks to generous donors, TCP Global had resources to help when the Oyabaku women's group in Uganda requested a loan program. With 24 sites now in Africa alone, we ask your help to ensure there will be funds when they and others want to expand.

Donors get a big bang for the buck with TCP Global. Each dollar is repaid and reinvested on average, once per year.
These are a few of the 40+ site administrators responsible for:
2600 Loans in the Americas
900 loans in Africa
200 loans in Nepal
“Good economic theory must give the people the chance to use their talents to build their own lives. We must get away from the traditional roles in which the rich do the business and the poor will depend on private or public charity.”     Muhammad Yunus
How you can support TCP Global:

1) Connect us with potential loan partners in marginalized communities like Chris did.

2) Share these success stories with others

3) Volunteer to mentor a loan program in a country you know well -- like Josh did.

4) Make a
donation like Gregory Dudley of Morgantown, West Virginia.
Micro-loan resources act as catalysts, creating paths and providing opportunities for people to transform their circumstances and elevate their quality of life. With repayment and reinvestment, micro-loans are also recyclable, creating ripple effects across generations of loan cycles. A little goes a long way...
