The Santa Monica Women's Group is located in Bungoma, Kenya. The women all attend church together at St Barnabus Catholic Church. Santa (or Saint) Monica is the patron saint for mothers, which is why they chose that name for their group. The group loaned out 150,000 Kenyan shillings to the 14 group members in amounts ranging from 3000 to 20000. The interest rate was set at 10%, as voted on by the group.

Bibianne is the leader.of the Santa Monica program She used her loan to establish a store front and increase inventory for her shop. Prior to receiving funds, she operated from a veranda of a friend's home.
Rosa buys green bananas which she can sell when ripe for a profit.
Josephine bought a pregnant goat which will provide milk and manure.
Judith bought a pregnant sheep.

The Santa Monica loans are small -- averaging $96, but they help the women increase earnings so they can feed their families and keep children in school.
Mercy used her loan to set up a small grocery stand.
Evelyn has a business selling second hand shoes.
Jemima used her loan to increase the inventory in her shop providing hair extensions and hair care items.

1) Connect TCP Global to a grassroots partner like YOGI in Nepal. Join the TCP Global team in zoom sessions to support the loan program.

2) Forward this notice so others can learn from Judith in Uganda the difference a small loan makes.

3) Volunteer like Kenney, to mentor a loan program in a country you know well.

4) Make a donation like RPCVs of Chicago, Kansas City, Long Island and Madison-Wisconsin, and Friends of Colombia and Nepal.
Until Peace Corps is back in the field, TCP Global is a good substitute for Peace Corps Partnership Projects for supporting development in small and remote communities around the world.
