Technology Update:
Ross Township's website has a brand new look!  Over the past year, we have worked hard to build a better, easier to use website:  has been changed to

Along with improving the website by placing it on a technology platform specifically built for government, we now have the ability to send out more frequent communications to residents.  Please take a moment to enter updated email addresses, because we've learned newsletters often wind up in spam or junk folders.  Please be sure to add this address to your safe senders list.

Printed copies of this newsletter will be sent out with summer tax notices, and we'll have extra copies at the front desk at the Township.
The Park is OPEN!
Park Hours are Monday through Sunday 9:00AM to 8:00PM

Ross Township Park opened Memorial Day weekend.  We have a great group of employees serving as Park Attendants for this summer.  They are:  Dimitri Harmon, Elizabeth Mertz, Brady O'Leary, Jade Pierce, Reed Pierce, Halle Tull.  Gull Lake graduating senior Jack Markille is our Park Supervisor.

The Ross-Augusta Fire Department will be holding an Appreciation Day for their firefighters and families on July 10th all day.  Please mark your calendars the park will be unavailable on that day so our firefighters and family can relax and enjoy time together.
Law Enforcement Update:
On Thursday, May 26, 2022, the Ross Township Board held a Special Public Meeting to select the new Police Chief of Ross Township.  By unanimous support, 22 year Kalamazoo County Sheriff Department veteran Melody Rugg has accepted our offer to fulfill community policing and patrolling duties for all of Ross Township.  It is with great excitement we will be fulfilling commitments made to residents to provide local policing for Ross Township.  Her focus will solely be on Ross Township, and we will not have to worry about her being pulled out of Ross and assigned to other communities.  Police Chief Mel will have her hands full working with various law enforcement regulatory agencies to get the Ross Township Police Department up and running this month.  We will be holding another Town Hall Public Meeting for residents to attend, ask questions, and meet Police Chief Mel.   Stay tuned for more communications within the next week on the planned date.  Want to send her a warm hello?  You can! Ross Township Cemetery Update
Cemeteries are looking greener with the rain and additions of flowers on loved ones graves.  We want all Ross Township cemeteries cleaned up in advance of the 4th of July holiday.  If you have a plot that has broken urns/pots, or urns/pots that are filled with dead weeds and no longer used, have obviously been abandoned, or graves that have broken memorabilia, please take these items home if they are special to you and plant them in your home garden in remembrance of your loved one.  Items that are broken, unused, unsightly with weeds and clearly abandoned will be disposed of by the Township in an effort to beautify the grounds.  Any items left meeting these definitions will be removed by June 30, 2022.  Please read the Cemetery Rules and Regulations for more information.  Thank you in advance for helping keep these very special places beautiful.
