Hello all,

The CXC Cup Schedule is now set for 2021-2022.

As we know from last season, it is subject to change closer to each individual event based upon snow conditions or other unforeseen factors.

The season highlights will be that the Central region's NRL races are bookended by the highest level of US competition with the US Continental Cup Super Schedule making its December stops in Duluth and Cable and the US Junior National Championships coming to Minneapolis in March.

The CXC Cup 2021-2022 season, as highlighted, will kick off with back to back Super Tour weekends in Early December, in January GLD and MW Junior competition will split for a pair of Divisional Qualifiers - one in Coleraine, MN and one in Houghton, MI, then Wirth Park will host the entire region at the CXC Cup Finals as our top Juniors prepare for the JNs hosted by the Loppet Mar 7-12.

We hope to have a fantastic season of racing for our athletes and supporters this winter. Make plans to join these great events!

In reviewing the schedule, please note that the season will start a week earlier than usual with the highest level of racing in the United States. This is going to require our athletes to be ready to be on their game early. Not peaking, but ready to compete at a high level in December. In order to be best prepared, it would be wise for aspiring Junior athletes to make plans to be on snow over Thanksgiving.

This can take many forms: from a 10 day trip to West Yellowstone (and altitude combined with the vibe of the West Yellowstone Ski Festival), a weeklong trip to the lake effect snows of the UP, to a long weekend trip to artificial snow in the north woods. We encourage those of you who may have taken a more traditional approach to your Thanksgiving plans of visiting family, enjoying Thanksgiving dinner and kicking of the holiday season to think about how you may be able incorporate these things with a trip to snow, whether it be taking off the weekend before Thanksgiving for snow country or taking a 3 day weekend to artificial snow.
