The Diocesan Year of the Eucharistic Revival began in June 2022 with an Opening Liturgy at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, a Eucharistic procession from the Cathedral to St. Peter's Church on Superior Avenue and XLT adoration prayer service. Since then, our diocesan offices have offered several programs that highlight the Eucharistic in various ways.
Currently, there are two initiatives to celebrate the season of Advent and the Eucharistic Revival. During the Presbyteral Convocation in October, several priests recorded video testimonies answering the question, “What does the Eucharist mean to me?” Every day we are posting post a new video on all our diocesan social media pages through Christmas. As you watch these videos, we hope you are inspired by the testimonies, and that they will help you fall more deeply in love with Christ’s real presence in the Eucharist. Follow the hashtag #EucharistCLE.
To celebrate the Eucharistic Revival, we have also rented 33 billboards in all eight counties that reside within the Diocese of Cleveland. The billboards feature quotes about the Eucharist from Saints and famous Catholics through our 2,000 years of Catholic tradition, going all the way back to Jesus himself! They reveal the truth of Jesus the Son of God and his true presence in the Eucharist. Please use them as conversation starters to invite people back to church, or to consider becoming Catholic for the first time.
Next summer, we are planning to celebrate four outdoor Masses at each of the Minor League stadiums located in our diocese. Your donations to #WeGiveCatholic will help support these events. We hope to be able to a national speaker, organize family activities, and provide some giveaways to those who come to celebrate with us. Every dollar you give will help! Thank you!
If everything goes well, our dream is to gather for midnight Mass at Browns Stadium the following year!
