The Light of Christ Shines Through

“Amid the many hardships we are enduring, let us never forget that we have been healed by the wounds of Christ (cf. 1 Pet 2:24). In the light of the Risen Lord, our sufferings are now transfigured. Where there was death, now there is life. Where there was mourning, now there is consolation. In embracing the cross, Jesus bestowed meaning on our sufferings and now we pray that the benefits of that healing will spread throughout the world. A good, happy and serene Easter to all of you!”

Nourish for Caregivers Information Session
Wednesday, June 9 at 10am
Caregiving needs have expanded during the pandemic. The Office for Marriage and Family Ministry will be bringing Nourish for Caregivers to Cleveland in an effort to address this growing need in our community.
Nourish for Caregivers is a mission-driven ministry that responds to the immense needs of caregivers. Not just their practical needs, but their emotional and spiritual needs as well. Its curriculum provides tools and resources to help caregivers connect with their faith and encounter Christ, so that they can see the grace of God in their caregiving journey. For more info, contact Terri Yohman.
Parenting Tips
Our office will periodically offer simple parenting tips that can be inserted in parish bulletins or websites. For more info about parenting resources, please contact Terri Yohman.

This Month's Parenting Tip - Accentuate the Positive
Compliments and encouragement can go a long way toward changing poor behaviors and building self-esteem. Accentuate positive behaviors by praising children of any age when they undertake appropriate actions. By simply letting children know that we have noticed their good behaviors, we can have a direct effect on the number of times they undertake these actions. “Thank you for...”, or “Good for you for....” are great starts in creating a positive environment in your children’s lives.

During the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed our lives in so many ways, but as Disciples of Christ we persevere in our joy as a people of faith. This Easter season we invite you to share YOUR Moments of Joy with us across social media! Share your story by posting your photos and videos with the hashtag #MomentsOfJoyCLE.

In April We Celebrate the Holy Spirit!

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy.
Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy.
Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I love but what is holy.
Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy.
Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy.
     ~St. Augustine
