Class Updates

Tulsa - September 13-15, 2019

We are less than two months from Santa Nana's Holiday University! We hope you are as excited as we are to come together in an environment where we learn, share, encourage, and connect with each other. We have added more details to the schedule and have some important updates. Read on to catch up with the plans.

Have you Registered?
If you haven't yet officially signed up for the class, please do so now. It will ensure we have the right information about you, the right materials, and the right amount of food! Visit the Tulsa page on the website to complete your registration if you have not yet done so. Thank you!

Class Location
Our class will be split between two locations. We will send the addresses shortly.

We are thrilled to have TWO special presenters
  • Bo (Santa Opa Claus) Turner will discuss photography tips and taking awesome photos with children.
  • Rita Brumm, a local author, will share her secrets about how to stay Jingle-fied all year long.
Community Service Project 
A new charitable organization that supports local senior citizens has been selected as our community service project. We will share more information shortly about this incredible opportunity to serve your community.

Class Roster
We plan to share a Class Roster with you, including your name, Character Name, Phone, Email, City, and State (no street address). If you do not want this information shared, let us know ASAP.

Travel, Hotel, and Transportation

We are exploring hotel options and expect to have those updates in the next few days. Please check the website and watch for an email with details. 

If you are looking for someone to TRAVEL or ROOM with, please post that on the Facebook page. Some of our attendees are looking to share costs and make new friends.

For making travel arrangements, please know that we expect Sunday’s class and graduation celebration to go at least until 5:00, If you need to leave early, let us know so we can adjust your photo time.

What to Send Ahead

If you have any of the following, please send them so we can include examples in our discussions. One of our goals with SNHU is to share and get feedback on what we are currently doing or planning to do, sharing best practices, and learning from each other. We realize each of us is at a different stage of professional development, so please do not worry if you have not yet created them.
  • Photo(s) of you in character—it can be a head shot, full shot, in casual wear, business wear, formal wear, etc. We want to build in a showcase of your different looks for different venues. You can also send some photos you are not that happy with and are willing to share as an example of a lesson learned, like the shiny face, the bad angle, the awkward pose, etc.
  • Business Card—scan your current business card for a show and tell of how you advertise and market yourself.

What to Bring with You

  • Stocking Stuffers - We are building Christmas stockings for everyone attending, and you're invited to add something to the fun. If you would like to contribute, bring 20 small stocking stuffers to help create a memory for your classmates.
  • Your Swim Suit, Sunscreen, Hat - After class, we can enjoy time at the pool, even if you just dip your toes in the water. 
  • An Accessory bring your favorite (travel-worthy) accessory to show your classmates what you add to your attire that helps you stand out from the crowd.
  • Business Cards - bring a few extra business cards to exchange with your classmates to build your networking directory.

Dress Code and Weather

  • Casual and comfortable for class time. Tulsa in September should be in the mid-80s.
  • Photo-worthy clothing for your head shot Sunday afternoon. You do not need to bring your full regalia, as we intend to take head shots for your marketing purposes.
  • Graduation—we would love to see everyone wear a red top and black pants/skirt for our class graduation photo, which we will take Sunday afternoon. Not required, but we like the idea of carrying on the theme that Santa Nana started with her first class in 2016, and then for the inaugural session in Canal Winchester in 2018, and most recently in Durham and Fresno. We all look fabulous, do we not?!
   

Bringing a Guest?

If your spouse or partner plans to come to Tulsa but doesn’t plan to attend class, let us know if you want to include him/her with meals. We can send a separate invoice for the Friday reception, Saturday lunch and Sunday graduation celebration ($15 each). Guests are also welcome to join us at the group dinner Saturday night at Tally's (separate checks). Write to us at SNHU@SantaNana.com.
