Class Updates

Fresno - July 19-21, 2019

Hello <<First Name>>!
We are about three weeks from Santa Nana's Holiday University! We hope you are as excited as we are to come together in an environment where we learn, share, encourage, and connect with each other. We have added more details to the schedule and have some important updates. Read on to catch up with the plans.

Submit Your Registration
If you haven't yet officially signed up for the class, please do so now. It will ensure we have the right information about you. Visit the Fresno page on the website to complete your registration if you have not yet done so. Thank you!

Class Location: Home of Louise Ethington
Louise has graciously offered her home as the location for the class. Her address is 741 W. Robinwood Lane, Fresno, CA 93704. Make a note for your GPS!

Please take a quick survey. Click HERE to answer a few questions about your expectations and some of your thoughts as a performer. We will share your feedback at the workshop. If the link doesn't open for you, copy and paste this into your browser:

We are thrilled to have FOUR special presenters. Hibett Vasquez will share make-up tips; Santa Victor will talk on Special Needs visits; Santa Fred Selinsky will share on Bereavement visits; and Santa Johnathan Burton will discuss Voice.

We will be supporting Toys for Tots as the community service project. Please bring an unwrapped toy, and Louise is arranging for the local Marines to stop by and pick up your donations.

Class Roster. We plan to share a Class Roster with you, including your name, Character Name, Phone, Email, City, and State (no street address). If you do not want this information shared, let us know ASAP.

Read on for other important updates about what to send ahead of time and what to bring with you.

Travel, Hotel, and Transportation

We are exploring an alternative to the Residence Inn and expect to have those updates in the next few days. Please check the website for updates.

If you are looking for someone to TRAVEL or ROOM with, please post that on the Facebook page. Some of our attendees are looking to share costs and make new friends.

For making travel arrangements, please know that we expect Sunday’s class schedule to go at least until 5:00, including a visit to the Underground Gardens, followed by a graduation picnic at Louise's home. If you need to leave early, let us know so we can adjust your photo time.

What to Send Ahead

If you have any of the following, please send them so we can include examples in our discussions. One of our goals with SNHU is to share and get feedback on what we are currently doing or planning to do, sharing best practices, and learning from each other. We realize each of us is at a different stage of professional development, so please do not worry if you have not yet created them.
  • Photo(s) of you in character—it can be a head shot, full shot, in casual wear, business wear, formal wear, etc. We want to build in a showcase of your different looks for different venues. You can also send some photos you are not that happy with and are willing to share as an example of a lesson learned, like the shiny face, the bad angle, the awkward pose, etc.
  • Business Card—scan your current business card for a show and tell of how you advertise and market yourself.
  • Resume/Bio—if you have one, send a copy we can share as an example, and we can also give you some feedback.
  • Links—to your character Facebook page(s) and website.
 Send what you have to

What to Bring with You

  • Unwrapped Toy - The selected community service project will support Toys for Tots and Louise is arranging for the local Marines to stop by and pick up your donations.
  • Your Swim Suit (or shorts/top) - Louise has a lovely pool, After class, we can enjoy time at the pool, even if you just dip your toes in the water.
  • An Accessory bring your favorite (travel-worthy) accessory to show your classmates the type of accessories you add to your attire that help you stand out from the crowd.
  • Business Cards - bring a few extra business cards to exchange with your classmates to build your networking directory.

Dress Code and Weather

  • Casual and comfortable for class time. Fresno in July is hot and dry. Outside temperatures are likely in the high 90s and low 100s.
  • Photo-worthy clothing for your photo shoot. You do not need to bring your full regalia unless you want to wear it for your photo shoot; we expect to have head shots.
  • Graduation—we would love to see everyone wear a red top and black pants/skirt for our group graduation photo, which we will take Sunday. Not required, but we like the idea of carrying on the theme that Santa Nana started with first class in 2016, and then for the Inaugural session in 2018, and most recently in Durham. We all look fabulous, do we not?!

Bringing a Guest?

If your spouse or partner plans to come to Fresno but doesn’t plan to attend class, let us know if you want to include him/her with meals. We can send a separate invoice for the Saturday lunch and Sunday graduation celebration ($15 each). Guests are welcome to join us at the group dinner Saturday night (separate checks). Write to us at
Thank you, and we'll send more updates as needed.
