Haere Mai!

Looking back on July - which somehow seems to have flown by - we had such an enjoyable time running our Winter Holiday Programme and taking part in the Light Up Winter event.

For our Winter Holiday Programme we were completely booked out, which was a great surprise to have as it helped to validate the hard work we are putting into improving our programmes and reach throughout the community. Our Holiday programme only ran for the first week as we worked on a number of funding applications towards improving our youth centre, The Hangout, in the second week. We are excited about the plans that are currently in place to completely revamp and refresh the internal and external spaces - and at the end of the day the people who benefit from these changes will be the local youth!

If you wish to donate towards this project, even if it is a few dollars, then please feel free to donate to our Give a Little page by clicking on this link.

Recently our part time youth worker, Kat, moved on from here role with Cromwell Youth Trust. We would like to extend our thanks for the past two years she has worked for CYT and we appreciate all her support for our young people in Cromwell & Bannockburn community. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

This August we have our first Youth Development Programme being run, Cooking Up a Storm - and at the time of this email we are completely booked out! And again this happened within a few days - which was exciting to see the interest of our programmes. Additionally, we also will be closed for a number of dates in August so please read below for those dates.

Let's also hope that winter decides to show itself and some snow starts to fall on the mountains for all our avid skiers and snowboarders out there!

Now - this fundraiser is technically not happening in August but actually in the first week of September - yet we are needing your support throughout August to help BOOK OUT Amigos for the evenings of Wednesday 4th & Thursday 5th September!

We have our youth, who are taking part in our Cooking Up a Storm Youth Development Programme, take over Amigos and serve the patrons these two nights. It is very easy to be involved!

1. Contact Amigos (03) 445 8263 and book a table for you and your friends and/or family! (for a date above!)
2. Reference Cromwell Youth Trust in your booking
3. Turn up on the night - order a ton of food and drinks and enjoy!
It is that easy!

BOOKED OUT | But we are excited about having this programme running and providing a hands-on and experiential learning experience for our participants.

Throughout the five (5) week programme we will be visiting a variety of locations around the community, including Otago Polytech, My Sisters Kitchen, Amigos and The Gate where our youth will be taught by professional chefs and food industry professionals.
