Haere Mai!

September brings along something important for all of us - it is Mental Health Awareness Week and it's occurring from the 21st - 27th September. It has been a difficult year and it is important that we take time to focus on our own wellbeing and explore what makes us feel good, stay well and uplift our feelings.

If you need someone to talk too then please seek that support. Feel free to click on the image below or scroll down to see helplines that are available for you with someone to listen.
Mental Health Awareness Week is happening during September. This year hasn't been easy. Explore what makes you feel good, stay well and uplift your feelings.

Beginning today we have officially opened our exciting Spring Holiday Programme, for registration, which aims to support the wellbeing of our youth through active and engaging activities that explore positive youth development. We are always so impressed with the numbers of youth we have who take part in our programmes; but its is important to know there are limited spaces available on selected activities - so scroll further along to see what we have on offer and we hope to acquire our own vehicle soon that will provide increased capacity.

Something that is an absolute MUST DO for all parents/guardians is well respected educator Nathan Wallis who is coming to Cromwell to do an informative talk about the developing teenage brain and Cromwell Youth Trust highly recommend coming along to this discussion as it will provide a great insight into what goes on in our young peoples minds. More details below.

Last month we almost hit the magic number of 600 - this means the number of times our young people engaged with The Hangout Youth Centre over the course of the month - which is incredible. We continue to see new faces and always encourage other youth to come by and check out all the things we offer.

Continue to check out all the exciting things available this month and remember to engage in some self care and know that someone is there to listen and support you.

Monday 14th September  |  7:30pm - 9pm  |  Cromwell College

Captivating audiences over 200 times per year to sell out events, Nathan has a profound reputation as a lively and engaging speaker. He uses humour and plain language to make this complex topic burst into life.

In this presentation, Nathan provides an informative narrative on how our day-to-day interactions with children and young people, significantly the early years, plays a critical role in defining later outcomes for our children. In this talk, Nathan will guide you through the stages of brain development from the first 1000 days and into adulthood. He will reveal little tricks that will hopefully make parenting easier, and help you open up communication with your child. You will walk away with a much better understanding of how both your child's brain and your own brain works.

Get in quick as tickets will sell out.
