Horizons Survey
 
We have engaged Horizons Stewardship to guide us as we seek to determine how best to address the remaining debt on our wonderful West Campus.  Horizons is currently collecting information from our congregation to assist in making decisions. If you have not received a survey and would like to participate, please contact the church office (office@fumclawrence.org) to receive a link to the survey.  Responses will be sent directly to Horizons and will remain confidential with them. Responses should be completed by Sunday evening, May 8.

The Chosen Sermon Series & Study, May-June, Both Campuses
Join us for our multimedia sermon series based on The Chosen, the first-ever multi-season series about the life of Christ. Join us Downtown Wednesdays at 4:45 pm for a weekly episode watch party.  Three study sessions are available with in-person and hybrid options.  Details about the series, the watch party, home viewing options, and the study sign-ups are all found on our website at: fumclawrence.org/chosen.

NEXTGEN MINISTRY:  CHILDREN and YOUTH
I would like to say a big THANK YOU to the First Church congregation for donating plastic eggs, candy and toys.  Thank you to the NextGen Team for helping stuff 1200 eggs! And another big thank you to the many volunteers who helped "hide" the eggs on Easter morning. We had over 60 kids participate in the Egg Hunt and we could not have done it without you. WesleyKU at Westwood House

WesleyKU is wrapping up the year with extended hours during finals week, May 9-13 at Westwood House. Westwood House will be open 10a-8p M-Th and 10-5 on Friday May 13. Snacks, specialty teas, coffee, study space, and board games will be available.  Other year-end events include a final campfire worship on Wednesday, May 4 at 7p. News from the Big Garden
 
The 2022 Big Garden season has begun! Fourteen volunteer gardeners have prepared the beds and planted potatoes, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, lettuce, spinach, chard, onions, beets, turnips, eggplant and artichokes. The pear trees have been tended to, and our individual bed gardeners are also in the ground. We have even harvested our first asparagus. There is always work to do at the garden, so we welcome anyone to join us at West Campus on Wednesday evenings. Produce from our donation beds goes to Just Food. Love grows here!
News from Stephen Ministry
 
Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who receive special training to provide one-to-one Christian care to people who are experiencing grief, loneliness, divorce, job loss, and many other life difficulties. They listen, care, listen some more, and provide emotional and spiritual support during a difficult time. It is confidential, free, and very helpful. Jesus taught us to love one another, and Stephen Ministry is that love in action. If you would like to learn more about receiving care, or about how to become a Stephen Minister, please contact Laura Irick at l.irick@sbcglobal.net, or call 785-749-5542.
