Dear Friends,

Our journey continues as we learn what it means to be deeply committed Christians, walking more closely with Jesus and growing in faith every day through five essential practices: Worship/Pray, Study, Serve, Give and Share.

Last Sunday in worship, we celebrated All Saints and explored how we serve each other and the world. We remembered the members of our church family who died in the past year, and we considered what it means to leave a legacy of love and what that legacy says about our lives. Are we sharing God’s love in our words and actions? Are we serving God and neighbor?

Our challenge for this week is to do one intentional act of kindness per day – or five acts of kindness per week. Imagine the impact that we can make on our community. If 200 persons do 5 acts each, that makes 1,000 acts of kindness during the week … or 52,000 acts in the coming year. We are also called to find a way to serve in and through our church. How is God calling you to serve? If you need help in finding a place to serve, just ask!

Remember to keep up the other practices, too:

  • Worship/Prayer by worshipping with others once per week and by praying five times per day (upon waking, at breakfast, at lunch, at dinner, when going to sleep)
  • Study by reading five verses (or even five chapters) of Scripture per day and by participating in a group study on an occasional or ongoing basis

This Sunday, November 14 in worship, we will explore the next essential practice: Give. We will discuss the importance of living generously and how sacrificial giving can become a joyful, fulfilling act of discipline as we realize that all we have comes from a gracious God. We will lift up different aspects of our current efforts to fund our ministry, and, following each service, you are invited to an information session where leaders will share more about our Still Forever First mini-campaign, our Beyond the Mountains: Continuing the Journey stewardship campaign, and our financial situation coming through 2021.

If you missed All Saints or want to view it again, you can watch the November 7 services here:  West Campus and Downtown

We look forward to connecting with you!

Rev. Kay and Rev. Jeni
