For more information visit our website fumclawrence.org

February is Black History Month and an opportunity for all of us to celebrate and reflect upon the remarkable contributions African Americans have made to American history. No matter who we are or what our background is, Black history is a part of our history. Through its R2 Hub, The General Commission on Religion and Race has provided 29 unique ways to participate in Black History Month and make a difference in your community. Discover new ways you can participate.

“Talk to your friends, talk to your neighbors, your faith community, any organizations you belong to, and encourage them to become knowledgeable,” Engstrom said. “Because knowledge is power, and that’s what this is all about.”

Stephen Ministry: The FUMC Stephen Ministry team is looking for people who feel called to listen, support and journey with other people experiencing a difficult time. We provide training and you provide one-on-one Christian caring. It is a valuable and rewarding ministry. Contact Laura Irick at l.irick@sbcglobal.net, or Sissy Krehbiel at carolynkrehbiel@gmail.com for information.

The team is providing casseroles, breakfast items, & pizza gift cards, as well as Dillon's grocery cards. Pastor Kay hand wrote a nice welcome note to each family, and many members of the congregation signed these in the gathering area on Jan 23.
