New in the Shop

Upcycled Vintage Fur Pom Poms
Made in Canada by hand from repurposed vintage fur, these poms are fluffy and soft, and most importantly, upcycled! Each one has a large lobster claw attachment which means they can be easily removed when it comes time to wash you hat.

Faux Fur Pom Poms
We also have more faux fur pom poms! These have an elastic loop or snap button attachment and can also be easily removed for washing.
Scheepjes Zuiderzee
This 100% wool is a 2ply worsted weight ideal for knitting Aran style sweaters. Hanna knit a Flax sweater by Tin Can Knits with it. This sample may or may not be in the shop, depending on whether or not it's made it's way into a box headed to the Netherlands and Hanna's new grandchild. The yarn has very nice loft and would would also be great for dying.

Prairie Spun DK
We're very happy to have this yarn back in the shop. It's a 100% wool DK that has great stitch definition. We've knit several items with it and always enjoy working with it.

Hanna used both these yarns to knit Sunnyside a baby cardigans by Tanis Lavallee.
Because they are different weights, the Scheepjes cardigan came out a little bigger, giving you more sizing options!

Issue 19 is out now. There are so many beautiful pattern, but we're also enjoying just looking at this issue. The photography is lovely and calming. It's definitely a copy you'll want to add to your library.

Making Stories
Issue 2 also came out a few days ago. In Issue 2, you’ll find cozy accessories and comfortable garments as well as extraordinary stories and visual art pieces sharing a range of stories by their contributors, from discovering the love for your body to finding the common threads in your communities and having necessary conversations on inclusion and racism.

What Are We Knitting?

Hanna is knitting...

House Socks by Handknit Yarn Studio

Everyone loves handmade socks, but if you're running out of time, these are perfect! Knit with DK weight yarn (Hanna knit a pair in Lettlopi!) You could make a pair in two days. Find the Free pattern on Ravelry here and pop by the shop for lots of fun yarn options.

Faye is knitting...

Lunenburg Pullover by Amy Christoffers

Obviously we had to knit this one! Amy purchased some beautiful Lichen and Lace Rustic Heather sport in our shop this summer, took it home and designed this stunning piece. Faye has only knit a little of the yoke and it will take a while to finish, but she is loving every stitch. We will be putting together bundles for colour suggestions soon! The pattern is available here.
