July 2021 Updates

Hello Wayne County!

This month we really focused on Our Community and this newsletter reflects what is happening around the county. Please share with your family, friends, and colleagues. And encourage them to sign up.

Boys and Girls Club Expanding
The Boys and Girls Club is expanding into Western Wayne at the Pershing Administration building. We are excited for this move. Yearly memberships are just $15 for kids ages 6-18 and they hope to open the site by the first day of school. And they are looking for workers! For more information, contact Alicia Painter at
Wayne County Cares: Building Resiliency in our Communities

We convened the second Wayne County Cares: Building Resiliency in our Communities event at Richmond Civic Hall this month; more than 80 participants attended. This event expanded upon trauma-informed practices and provided some great resources for employers to think about. It also expanded on how we can all build upon resiliency. Stay tuned for more information.
