Born and raised in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, Chef Rafael Castillo has been closely connected to cooking since growing up as a young child in the kitchen with his Mother and Grandmother. Rafael watched with fascination as they cooked and prepared family feasts, building a fond relationship with food that has lasted to this day. This fascination continued as Rafael grew older, spending time with his mother in her Tortilleria in Merida. Chef Rafael is now at the helm of the contemporary Mexican restaurant, Fonda Fora, at The Westley Hotel in Calgary.

Alberta Chicken Producers is comprised of 250 regulated chicken producers. ACP license and register all producers, hatcheries and processors engaged in the production of regulated product in Alberta.
In addition to regulated producers, Alberta also provides an exemption limit of 2,000 chickens per year for individuals to raise and market chicken for the purposes of personal consumption, sale from farm gate, or sale at farmers’ markets within Alberta.
