Burlington’s median income is far behind the median income for Chittenden County. What’s driving this disparity, and how do lawmakers plan to address it? #btv

I live in the south end of #BTV, & I'm proud of our community for setting up a new low-barrier shelter in the middle of a pandemic. We're housing folks who need it most & reducing spread. Incredible feat.
I'm less psyched abt the hand-wringing on FPF.

Dave's Corner 💭
On Friday night I heard several large bangs in the New North End, spaced out by a few minutes. They were coming from the west side of North Avenue towards the lake. I'm wondering if anybody knows what these were, because I'm curious. Reply to this email and let me know.

both of these cars have had snow collect and melt off twice since Thanksgiving. ( it appears UVM eliminating so many parking places has caused student to long term park here? )..please put the silver Subaru with Illinois registration, and the black Toyota with VT plates on the abandoned list, or notify owners to move them, there is very limited spaces off street for tenants and homeowners as it is. Random Burlingtonian Quote of the Day 📝
The ground of democratic ideas and practices is faith in the potentialities of individuals, faith in the capacity for positive developments if proper conditions are provided. The weakness of the philosophy originally advanced to justify the democratic movement was that it took individuality to be something given ready-made, that is, in abstraction from time, instead of as a power to develop.
—John Dewey
