17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

2 Corinthians 5:17-20

Food for thought ...

Have you ever walked down a crowded city street and just looked in the eyes of the people you know are less fortunate than you? Maybe it’s their clothes, shoes, or even possibly their hygiene. Maybe they are asking for money or food. Have you ever traveled to a third world country and looked in the eyes of the children just looking for love, food, or maybe just a place to sleep where they feel safe from the world they live in. Proverbs 19:17 Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.

Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child is a wonderful way to put joy into a child’s smile. Every child deserves to have a smile, actually more than the smile a toy could put on their face is the love of Christ that we hope will leave them smiling forever. Matthew 28:19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. God promises to be with us to the very end of the age and we need to teach this to the children who may never hear from anyone else this important message. They will sleep with a smile on their face just knowing that our Father has them wrapped in his arms and that they have nothing to fear when he is in their hearts. Please prayerfully consider putting a shoebox together so that you can share the love of Christ with someone who desperately needs it!
