17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:17-20
Reading through the New Testament in One Year!
Did you know there are 27 books and 260 chapters in the New Testament? If you read ONE chapter a day, six days a week (Monday through Saturday), taking off Sundays and taking a break during Advent- Christmas and Holy Week, we will read through the entire NT in ONE year.
Have you ever read through the NT in a planned way?
I want to invite to you to read through the New Testament in ONE Year, reading ONE chapter a day!
Monday through Saturday, daily read online or in your Bible or listen to the daily reading professionally read to you. You could do that in the car every day driving to work, or while you are eating breakfast, or taking your daily walk, or just before you went to bed, and countless other opportunities in your day. You get to choose if you read it or listen to it read to you.
Second, a daily blog with a few thoughts and questions and a social media opportunity to exchange of questions and "aha moments" with each other online daily.
Third, weekly or bi-weekly meet in a connection group. Join with others in a live study (zoom or in person) to enhance your growth and fellowship.
Fourth, worship on Sunday each week is where we will kick off our weekly focus together on the coming week's readings.
It all starts on Sunday, September 12 and we will complete our ONE year walk together through the New Testament ON August 22, 2022. That's one chapter a day, to read through the entire New Testament together in one year.
We have created a website ONECHAPTERADAY.COM (which will be public starting in September) where daily readings, blogs, and social media will be posted and where we can share questions and "aha moments" together all year long.
I hope you will start thinking and praying about being a part of this one year adventure "reading through the NT” starting September 12, ONE CHAPTER A DAY.
Are you gifted with a digital camera? Faith Lutheran School is looking for a photographer to capture high-quality digital photos of our school in action: Kids, teachers, classrooms, etc. Please call (770-973-8877) or email Janice Schaag or Susie Glass if you are interested and able to help.
We would like to thank all of you for the warm welcome we have received as we come into your fellowship. Having been on the giving and receiving end of church celebrations, we know the hard work that comes before, during and after the festivities!
It has been a delight to be working with such dedicated and talented staff and volunteers at Faith, and we look forward to the blessings of our great God on Faith this year, and into the future. We are thankful for the opportunity to be your partners.

Have a used tablet?
Are you enjoying that new tablet you got recently (or maybe not so recently)? What's your old one doing? Would it like to come help out in our Kids Club program? We are looking for a few used tablets (although we wouldn't refuse a new one ...), still in working order with a working wifi connection, to be used when checking students out of Kids Club in the afternoons. For more info or to donate an old tablet, please contact Becca Ford at Becca.Ford@FaithMareitta.org. Thank you for considering this great recycling opportunity!
Exciting things to come!!!!
Can you believe the holidays are just around the corner?! I love this time of the year and am always so excited when I see how much our church enjoys sharing with less fortunate families. This year there will be multiple ways to share beginning inOctober!
We will be putting shoeboxes together for OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD! I should have all the supplies to begin handing out the first week of October and I will let know the ship date as we get closer.
In November we will be putting together Thanksgiving Food Baskets which has always been such a huge success!
In December we will have a Christmas food drive as well as a toy collection! We are also always thankful for socks, gloves, and hat donations. Be on the lookout!
Don't forget to pick up GREEN bananas next weekend!!!
GREENBANANA SUNDAY -
Sunday August 29th we are asking for the congregation to bring the greenest bananas they can find to be delivered to the food pantry on Tuesday 31st. Saturday when you are out doing your shopping, pick up an extra bunch of green bananas and bring them to church with you on Sunday morning!
JUST ONE THING - BELOW you will find the sales ads for this week. There are some wonderful ads this week. With school coming to an end for many families that receive breakfast and lunch the need will be great to keep the children fed, as well as many seniors in our community. This week is a great time to stock up on your favorite breakfast item that you would like to share with a family in need! Just remember that JUST ONE THING you would love to share! Also if you would like to take a peek at our new “Food Pantry,” also known as the bat cave,… let me know and I would love to show it to you!!! God’s richest blessings on you and your families!
