The need for support isn’t the same as a normal missionary. Since most of my responsibility is in the U.S., I don’t need to raise a lot financial support. The support needed is mostly for work related things such as airline tickets and the cost to drive a vehicle to meetings. Currently, I am between one-third and one-half of what I feel is necessary. Some of the churches I have presented the work in are praying and seeking the Lord about their opportunity to be a partner in the ministry. The quicker my personal support can be raised, the quicker I can move on to raising support for national pastors. The nationals we choose to support will be vetted and their support will be funneled through a network of solid works for the sake of accountability.
It is exciting to watch as God answers prayers. Not long ago I returned from a trip to California where I was with a fairly young church plant. The young pastor and his congregation were excited about the work of Spiritual Leadership Asia. As I was being dropped off at the airport by the pastor, he shared with me that he thought his church would be able to take me on for support and that he would talk to his men about helping to sponsor 100 national pastors so they could attend the Spiritual Leadership Conference in Manila next March. That same week, as I was driving, a call came in from a supporting pastor sharing with me that his church was recently given some money to be used for missions. He stated that they would be sending $15,000.00 to send 300 national pastors to the SL-Conference in Manila. The very next day I was preaching and presenting SL-Asia in a church in northern Virginia. The church voted that evening to begin supporting me and also to send $10,000.00 for the purpose of sponsoring 200 national pastors to the SL-Asia conference in Manila next March.
We are seeking churches and individuals that would like to help us with the cost of the Spiritual Leadership Conference of Asia. We are encouraging churches to take on partial sponsorships for the purpose of sending national pastors from Asia to this meeting. The sponsorship is $50 per pastor. As it stands now, it looks like we might be closing in on 2,000 sponsorships. However, we’re in need of 5,000 of these sponsors so we have quite a ways to go. Yet, we believe our God is able. Here is the link if you would like to be involved https://slconferenceasia.com/sponsor-national-pastor.
Please pray for me as I have a very full schedule up into December. God has been good, and I have been booked. I am beginning to book the rest of my calendar for 2020. If you would like me to come for a mission’s conference or a Sunday mission’s emphasis, please contact me at your earliest convenience.
