Greetings from Cleveland, Ohio. It is my prayer that you are enjoying a great beginning to the year. Most of you are aware that I was scheduled to be in the Philippines for two weeks this month helping with the Spiritual Leadership Conference of Asia. Unfortunately, we had to postpone this conference because of the Coronavirus. We have rescheduled it for March 1-5, 2021. Perhaps as a result of this change, some of you will now be able to join us in Manila for this meeting!
Emphasis on Prayer
Since we have had to postpone the SLC-Asia meeting, we are asking folks to join us in prayer the week of March 8-15 to pray specifically for the 10/40 focused nations. We want you to pray for God to spiritually awaken this region and to call forth laborers into the harvest. Please set your alarm for either 10:40 a.m. or p.m. and spend some time praying for these needs. We encourage you to sign-up as a prayer partner at the http://sl-asia.com
website. There will be a place there to add your name as a prayer partner.
Scheduling a Trip to Asia
Since we have had to postpone the SLC-Asia meeting, Dr. Chappell, Brother Niranjan Sundararaj and I have discussed the importance of not losing momentum in this ministry. We know that there is a great amount of disappointment throughout Asia because of postponing of SLC-Asia. In our conversations Dr. Chappell thought it would be wise for me to schedule a trip to Asia sometime in the next six months. I am studying my schedule, praying and awaiting confirmation from the Lord about the right time to book a ticket and arrange an itinerary for this trip. Please pray that God would give me clear direction.
Since my last update, God has graciously allowed me to continue to travel for Spiritual Leadership Asia and to present this ministry in new churches. I find that God’s people are very open and interested in what God is doing through this ministry. Since the beginning of the year, I have held meetings in the states of Ohio, Indiana, Georgia, North Carolina, Maryland, Tennessee, California, and West Virginia.
Openings in the Schedule
While I have several meetings booked for the rest of the year, I also have several openings in my schedule. I would count it an honor to come to your church and present this ministry. With the ministry experience God has given to me, I believe that I can be a blessing to you and your church. I especially enjoy preaching and participating in mission conferences. I am aware that many pastors book their conference speakers well in advance, so I am booking meetings for the next few years. I am available for one day meetings or even service meetings, as well.
Current 10/40 Nations
Most people are aware of the term 10/40 Window. The name for this region was first used by Luis and Doris Bush because they thought that the term “window” speaks of opportunity.
The following is an alphabetic list of current countries in this area.
Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Chad, China, Cyprus, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, , Ethiopia, Gambia’ Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, India’ Iran, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Korea (North), Korea (South), Kuwait, Laos, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Malta, Mauritania, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Western Sahara, and Yemen.
In this region there are 865-million Muslims / 550-million Hindus / 275-millon Buddhists / 140-million animists / 17-million Jews and just a very small percentage of Christians. Certainly, the need of the gospel to penetrate and pierce the spiritual darkness of this region is critical.
Proposed 10/40 Focused Nations
For the purpose of this ministry, we are suggesting that we draw the lines a bit differently and focus primarily on Asia. Instead of drawing the bottom line at 10-dgrees north, we will draw it at 10-degrees south of the equator and focus on the Asian nations found within this 10/40 Window. This would allow us to include the countries of Singapore, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and some others, that are missed otherwise. This is a huge region with great spiritual needs, but our God is able, and we know He is moving to bring light to darkness.
Thank you for praying and supporting this ministry.
For His Cause,
North American Director
