Rollaway Dog Cafe "Neighborhood Tour"

We have great news to share with you about our favorite food and treat truck for dogs. The Rollaway Dog Cafe will once again be offering tasty and healthy treats around the area this summer!

Since we will not be attending large scale events this summer due to safety concerns, we decided to join in on the food truck events going on nearby. We've had a few neighborhoods ask us to join and we thought it would be fun.

But we need your help. If you live in a dog-friendly neighborhood, or your friends and family do, and you think our treat truck for dogs would be a good fit, please reach out to us. We would love to visit! Our contact information is listed below.

Here is a little about our "cart", if you haven't heard of us. The Rollaway Dog Cafe is owned by Maureen, Rae and our friend, Ann, who also owns The Holistic Pet Nutrition Center. We are all very passionate about pets and proper nutrition. We found a fun way to serve healthy treats and educate pet parents on the benefits of our products and better pet nutrition in general. As we like to say, there is a "why" behind everything we serve or sell. Every item is not just a treat but also benefits your pet's health in some way. This is our third season of operation. We generally operate from April through October, weather permitting.

We offer our homemade treats through our serving window for your pet to enjoy here. Our treats are made with USDA- approved pet ingredients. We are fully licensed and have guaranteed analyses on file for every item we make. Our items are pet size appropriate. We also have a pop-up store full of goodies that you may take home for your pet. Even if your dog does not play well with others and has to stay home, you can take them a treat home and you won't feel guilty one bit! Click on our menu board photo for this year's offerings.

This year we are excited to offer half-pints to go of our ice creams, snow cones and slushies. We will also have frozen pints and quarts of Answers Goat's milk and Kefir available for purchase.
We hope to serve your pup (or cat!) some treats very soon!

Treat Time!
Pet "Ice Lick" Summertime Treat

In June's blog we share an idea for a homemade "ice lick" you can make for your dog or cat. It is very important that your pets stay hydrated, especially in the summer months. This is not only an easy way to do that, but it is fun and engaging for your pet. It is very versatile and you most likely already have the ingredients in your kitchen.
What you need:

  • A pie or cake pan that you can freeze- size-appropriate for your pet. If you have a small dog or cat, you may use something as small as a muffin pan.
  • Healthy, tasty treats, such as berries, watermelon, pineapple, bananas, carrots, green beans, sardines, anchovies.
  • Water
  • Coconut oil (optional but recommended)

I like to start by coating the pan with coconut oil. This helps release the ice from the pan. And coconut is great for pets!  Fill the pan with your choice of healthy treats and water. Freeze. Once frozen, remove it from the pie pan and let your pets enjoy (outside of course). Smaller versions of these using only fish or meat, are great for cats, too.  For indoors, you may leave the ice in the pan or transfer it to another bowl to avoid a mess as it melts.

Heartfelt Goodbyes

We would like to take a moment to send our sincere condolences to the family of Emma S.  Emma was definitely a favorite of ours. She was your typical fun-loving yellow lab. She enjoyed spending time in her big yard and sunbathing on the patio. She loved everyone and everything, especially her dad. She was a very funny girl who loved her brothers, Stanley and Spanky. She really loved her treats and made sure you knew where they were kept!

Emma was always happy. She was a joy to be around. Run free, sweet Emma! We love you!

CBD Helps Reduce Anxiety for All Pet Pup

If you have been following us, you are aware of our appreciation for cbd and how it has helped our pets and others. We wanted to share our most recent success story. Here, Cooper’s “mom”, Judy, shares Cooper’s experience thus far with cbd oil. Cooper began taking cbd oil mid-May.

“Cooper, my 3 yr. old black lab, has always had problems with anxiety. He struggles when I am out of sight or when his routine changes.  Because of this anxiety, he was constantly chewing and licking his feet.  Whatever I tried to make him stop wouldn’t work. I talked to Rae McStay about Cooper’s problem, and she suggested he would be a good candidate for CBD oil.  I read the information that she gave me, and decided to give it a try. Cooper takes two doses a day, and after two days I began to see results.  His chewing and licking decreased greatly.  He was able to lie on the floor without focusing on his feet.  He has been taking the CBD oil for about a month now, and he only chews on his feet occasionally. I have also noticed that he has been sleeping more soundly at night. I’m so pleased that we were able to help Cooper.”

We are so pleased to help Cooper, too, Judy!

If you have ever thought about whether cbd could help your pet (or even you) and you have questions, please feel free to contact us. Not only do All Pet clients get a 10% discount and free delivery through The Rollaway Dog Café, they get our knowledge and guidance. Rae is always available to answer any questions or concerns you have. She helps start you or your pet with dosing and follows up to make sure to help adjust it, when needed. She offers helpful tips about when to dose, what results you are likely to notice first, and other information we’ve found isn’t offered in other cbd stores or online. Most of all, you have someone to guide you with the convenience of an email, text or phone call! Whatever you choose, just remember that not all cbd is alike. It is very important to purchase from a reputable manufacturer. For instance, cbd oil is available on Groupon at an extreme discount. Try researching it to find out where and whom it comes from. You will not find that information. That is alarming. Steer clear of these products. It is likely Chinese industrial hemp, which is a very dirty product. It may contain no cbd at all. Or worse, it could contain many contaminants, as hemp is known for its ability to clean toxins out of soil. Always purchase USA- grown hemp that is manufactured in the USA.

For detailed information, visit One Farm by WAAYB at www.onefarm.com. They have lots of information that is easy to understand. They have a section dedicated to pets and cbd, as well.
