In the continuous celebration of the 500 Years of Christianity (YOC) in the Philippines and in celebration of National Catechetical Month and Catechist's Day, our National Catechetical Study (NCS) 2021: Pastoral Action Research and Intervention (PARI) Project, presents this research-based literary book, Katekista: Mga Tulang Pananaliksik. This is part of the series of special E-news issues highlighting the Seven Catechetical Book Gifts to our Catholic Church produced by the NCS.
The book Katekista: Mga Tulang Pananaliksik was produced as a creative medium through which the research findings and insights of NCS 2021: PARI Project can be more vividly delivered. Diverting from the usual use of graphs, charts, and statistics to depict data, the author, Prof. Clarence M. Batan, PhD, leveraged the use of literary forms, mainly poems, to express the ins and outs of the KATEKISTA, and ways to move forward in the Catechetical Ministry (CM). Through the efforts of various NCS 2021: PARI Project associates, the poems were translated into multiple local and international tongues to reflect CM's multicultural nature. Although this was launched during the more tumultuous and uncertain months of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the book nevertheless emerged as a brilliant attempt to pursue creative research dissemination.
The PDF version of the book is available here on our website.
