October 25 is the fourth annual World Opera Day, and the birthday of Georges Bizet and Johann Strauss II, composers of possibly the world’s most famous opera (Carmen) and operetta (Die Fledermaus). It is a day when opera companies, artists, opera lovers and opera professionals show and celebrate the value of the art form. Join BOF in the celebration by sharing your love of opera on social media — tag your posts with #WorldOperaDay and #BerkshireOperaFestival.
Our new offices are in Pittsfield.
We are excited to have a new home among the arts community in Pittsfield. Rest assured, BOF will continue performing and having a regular presence in Great Barrington and South Berkshire County. We are a proud Berkshires-based organization, and nothing will change in that regard except our mailing address.
So please update your files with our new mailing address:
Berkshire Opera Festival
54 Wendell Avenue, Suite 5
Pittsfield, MA 01201-6312
Request for donations: The new BOF administrative offices are in need of some items (gently used bookshelves, filing cabinets, floor lamps, small furniture, etc.). If you are local to the Berkshires and have items you would be willing to donate as we settle into our new home, please get in touch. Thank you!

BOF's production of Heggie's Three Decembers has been nominated by The Berkshire Theatre Critics Association (BTCA) in the "Outstanding Production with Fewer Than Six Performances" category at the 6th Berkshire Theatre Awards, known colloquially as The Berkies. This year’s awards recognize shows that opened in the greater Berkshire region between October 1, 2021 and September 30, 2022. The purpose of the BTCA and the Berkshire Theatre Awards is to promote and celebrate the quality and diversity of theatre in the region. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on the evening of November 14 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pittsfield. Congratulations to our Three Decembers artists and creative team and to all our fellow Berkshire Theatre Awards nominees.
