Presenter:- Dr Andrew Bode
The next Griffith University lecture for U3A members will be held at 1.30pm – 3.15pm on Friday, 11 November. Dr Andrew Bode will talk about his own personal search for his identity – a topic that promises to be particularly interesting for all those fascinated by genealogy.
Andrew taught matriculation English and History in Queensland secondary schools for 19 years and was a Secondary School principal for 10 years and a primary school principal for 8 years before teaching Social Science, Educational Law and Pedagogy at Griffith University for the last 18 years.
In 1998 he was awarded the John Treloar Travelling Scholar grant from the Australian War Memorial to the United States where he interviewed veterans who were based in Brisbane during WWII. More recently he was a keynote speaker at the Australasian Genealogy Conference in Darling Harbour, Sydney where his remarkable journey became public.
