Voice Innovations Update

Voice is emerging as an industry focus for venture capital and research firms, with several reports coming out over the last quarter. Along with the general consensus that voice will be the next major platform shift, we saw multiple reports with strong data indicators that are helping to lay foundational statistics and benchmarks.

The critical realization now dawning is the importance of voice to AI. As we reach a point where we are always within earshot of a voice-enabled device, whether the phone, the car, the TV remote, or even a smart refrigerator, we'll see voice commands proliferate.  As every action that comes to mind can be executed by just speaking a command, voice will become the most important input into any AI platform.

"Voice will be one of the defining themes of the next decade. As well as impacting every business with a digital presence, it will spawn a new generation of technology companies in every category...Voice represents both a platform and user interface (UI) shift comparable to the web and smartphones. And as the front door to artificial intelligence  and machine learning, voice technology will find powerful new ways to serve us."

-- Mangrove Capital Partners, Voice Tech Report 2019

"The results show consumers and businesses continuing to adopt voice technology at a rapid rate. The study found that “consumer satisfaction for smartphone-based voice services has increased from 61% in 2017 to 72% this year” and that “76% of companies… have experienced measurable benefits as a result of implementing the technology, such as significant reductions in spending on customer service."

Aiqudo enables voice as the new UI for our digital world - Voice to Action®

Aiqudo’s Q Actions Voice AI solution was deployed and released for iOS, enabling app developers to define their own voice experience for their users rather than being subject to the limitations of SiriKit or Siri Shortcuts.

Currently, SiriKit limits developers’ ability to expose functionality in Siri, allowing only broad categories that dilute the differentiated experiences that developers have built around their apps. With Q Actions for iOS, brands and businesses are now able to maintain their differentiating features and brand recognition, rather than conform to a generalized category.

Check out our blog post on Q Actions for iOS here.

The team attended the leading voice industry event, Voice Summit in New Jersey, which this year was again a very focused gathering of leaders and influencers from around the world who work within voice. Look for attendance at this show to set records next year!
