What's up choppers,

The first unofficial week of summer 2020 has begun, which is pretty exciting because here at Chop N Drop, we have decided to postpone the official start of summer. So, all you graduates have a little more time.
Song of the Week

Curtis Waters - Stunnin'

This song first came out on Tik Tok with Curtis Waters doing a cool little dance. We gotta give it to this guy for really pushing this song out. He made Tik Tok's almost everyday telling everyone the release date. Now, it is finally out and has full-on summer vibes. You can check out his Tik Tok dance to it here.

WELCOME BACK TO THE DROP ZONE
These are our favorite new tracks from this past week, click here for a full list of notable releases.

Rap
Kota the Friend - EVERYTHING
This guy is blowing up, deservingly so. EVERYTHING is an uplifting and artistic hip hop album. Songs to listen to: Summer House, Long Beach, B.Q.E.

Alternative
Lewis Del Mar - "The Ceiling/ Border (CH. III)"
Four years later, this duo is back with dynamic energy, intense personal reflections, and overall, two really well-done singles. If you haven't heard of them, we definitely recommend checking them out. Their vibe is similar to Local Natives and Hippo Campus.

Pop
deadmau5 and The Neptunes - "Pomegranate"
deadmau5 worked with Pharell Williams and Chad Hugo (The Neptunes) during a secret recording session at the most recent Art Basel in Miami. This track has a nice funk bounce and elements of both R&B and electro-pop.

EDM
Disclosure - "Energy"
The title track off of the duo's upcoming August album taps Eric Thomas' epic preacher voice in a Disclosure-esque vibe. We’re convinced they were on shrooms when the made this track, and it's taking us back to the scene in Big Mouth when Nick and Jesse took an edible.

Doja What?

Cancel culture is on a roll this 2020!

A video got leaked of Doja Cat in an online video chat room with a bunch of alt-right incels where she is seen stripping for them and using the hard R plenty of times. You can see the evidence here and here.

It was beyond stupid for her to be spewing that kind of language in a chat room with strangers. She also tried to justify herself as not racist by saying she's "half South African." You can check her apology out here.

key glock

Son of a Gun
7.9/10

Wow. Outta nowhere.

All we're gonna tell you is to listen to the first song. It proves that Key Glock is one of the few- if not the only rapper putting real energy into his tracks.

This is the kinda album you bump when you're doing hood rat shit with your friends or when Karen tells you to turn the music down. Pure energy in these bars.

Songs to listen to: Son of a Gun, Fytb, Go Get It
