Steubenville St. Paul - Registration

The Steubenville Summer Youth Conference is a transformational pilgrimage for the youth of our Diocese. It is a weekend conference that evangelizes, equips and empowers 9th-12th grade youth to become radical, joyful disciples! This year we will be returning to St. Paul and Valley Fair in Minnesota.

We have already registered with the conference but will continue to add parish reservations until the busses are full and/or the conference sells out! We currently have 15 more spots on the bus.

If you have students you think would be a good fit for this and have not already registered with us for the trip, please contact me right away! We are close to the final payment deadline and the early pricing with the conference.

Fundraising Ideas

I've had some requests for ideas on how to help families raise the funds for some of our more costly events. Below is the best method that I have seen to help youth attend some of these more costly summer events. If you have any families in need of scholarships please contact us and we will see what we are able to do.

Student Appeal Letters
  • Help students to make a list of 15-20 people to contact. These could be family members, friends, teachers, coaches, etc. People who have invested in their lives in some way in the past.
  • Help students to write appeal letters to send to these contacts. See the sample letter here (link). It's important that some portion of the letter have some text written by hand by the student (ie. the recipient line, student signature, or a specific personal note, etc.) It's also important that students are guided to pray for these contacts as they write the letters and as they wait for a response.
  • Help students with a Follow-up 1-2 weeks after sending the letter. This will drastically increase the gifts that are returned! See attached sample call script (link). Follow up each call with a simple thank you note.
  • Help students with a system of tracking gifts. Knowing each donor has been thanked and having a way to see if a student received more than needed could help other students who do not get an adequate response. Sending a note once the event is over with some personal details about the trip will greatly increase the possibility that these donors will give again in the future.
