Superintendent's Corner
Keeping with healthy habits during spring break!
Spring Break is almost here and it's a much deserved break for all students and families. Here are a few ways you can make sure that while your students are resting and having fun, they are still staying on track for their goals, and won't miss a beat once they return!
Be mindful of tech-time:
Computers, Tablets, Phones, etc. can be fun and useful during your vacation! But, it can be very easy to waste the day away watching TV or playing on your tablet for several hours. It’s important to teach your kids to use technology responsibly, even when they’re on vacation.
You can set timed goals of reading, walking, playing outside and even doing some chores to earn time on their favorite devices.
"Staycation" Ideas:
You don't have to have an elaborate trip planned to have a great break. Here are a few ideas to have fun right at home.
For your High School students:
Now is a great time to be putting in a little extra work towards your after HS plans. If applying to college is in your future, you can use this time to work on your preferred college list.
Are you undecided between colleges? Plan a visit to tour one! If you have already decided, it's never too early to start working on those scholarship applications.
If you are planning on continuing your education in a trade school, maybe connect with a local tradesman in the field you are interested in, and shadow for a few days!
Whatever your next steps are, this week away from your regular responsibilities, is a great time to keep the momentum going towards your future.
