Congratulations to all of our amazing graduates in the Ohio District! As the academic year comes to a close, we want to congratulate all of you for your hard work during your collegiate years and say how honored we are that you chose to be a member of our District.

From the pancake breakfasts to the garden cleanups, CKI is where memories are made with people that love service as much as you do. Whether you served as an officer, a committee chair, or as a general club member, all of you are appreciated for the hard work that you do on your campuses and in your communities.

Whether you joined the Kiwanis Family in elementary school as a member of K-Kids, enlisted in Key Club, or joined up in Circle K, we hope that you continue your journey of service in your local Kiwanis club when the time comes. For those that do not know, your dues are waived for 2 years when you join Kiwanis after being a Circle K member. If you ever have any questions you can find more information on the Ohio Kiwanis website, or look for them on social media.

In the meantime, we hope that you will join our alumni groups on Facebook! You can connect with past and current members and share your CKI memories, as well as be updated on information for what is going on in the Ohio District of Circle K International. Our 2021 Spring Officers Training event (SpOT) will take place on Saturday, May 22nd from 11am-2pm.

This is a mandatory event that all club officers must attend as part of your position. You can register using the "Register for SpOT Here!" button below! You will receive a confirmation email after registering, so check your spam folder in case you don't see it. The event is free for all attendees!

The event will take place entirely on Zoom and will consist of 2 separate workshops.

The first workshop will be from 11am-12pm and will consist of individual officer training. We will go into breakout rooms divided by position and you will receive training from a District Board Member.

We will have a lunch break from 12-1pm. At that time, attendees are welcome to leave the meeting to get something to eat and rejoin at 1pm. You can also stay on the meeting call where the District Board will be eating lunch and playing Jackbox games so you are all welcome to stay and enjoy some company during the break!

The second session will be from 1-2pm and will consist of club analysis and goal setting. We will once again go into breakout rooms, this time divided by club, and you will be provided with materials to analyze your club's strengths and weaknesses and set your goals for the year.

Once again, attending this event is expected of every club officer in the District. We have shortened the event time to just a few hours to better accommodate people's schedules. So, mark your calendars for the event and we can't wait to see all of you there!

Applications are still open for those interested in serving on the 2021-22 Ohio District Board! We have numerous positions available to fill at different levels of commitment, so there is sure to be something for everyone.

May Member Spotlight
Our first member spotlight is Rachel Brown from Baldwin Wallace University!

Rachel is in her final semester at Baldwin Wallace University with a major in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Psychology.
She will be graduating this month and has already been accepted into the Speech-Language Pathology graduate program at West Chester University. 

She has been a member of Circle K International for 3 years and has put in over 80 hours of community service. Rachel’s consistent service and leadership during her three years within Circle K helped BW’s Circle K receive prestigious awards multiple times at District Convention and from the university.

June Club Spotlight Submission
The May Member Spotlight is the first spotlight of the year! The Ohio District wants to continue to recognize all of the hard work that our club officers and members do. Next month, we will be spotlighting one of our clubs and we would like to hear from you. It can be your home club or another club in the district-- we just want to know why they stand out to you! 

Any club officer, member, or advisor can nominate a club using the form below. Just click on the button "Nominations for Club Spotlight Here" to submit the information.

ELC in SLC
Circle K International Education & Leadership Conference (ELC) will take place in Salt Lake City (SLC), Utah from June 24-26, 2021. Although we are not organizing an official district tour in and around SLC, we still welcome any Ohio member who is interested in joining us and our small delegation to this year's unique international convention experience.
There are two types of registration, in-person and virtual. The in-person option is $225, which includes all of the listed convention opportunities on the registration page. The virtual option is $25, which includes the same listed convention opportunities for those who need or wish to stay at home this year due to the ongoing COVID pandemic. Club & Individual Awards
Individual and Club Awards for International convention (ELC in SLC) are due in 14 days (Friday, May 14th, 2021 at 12 pm ET, NOON). Please look into applying for awards, this is a great way to show your district pride.

The District report form is the same updating system as last year. Each club has a Google Excel sheet where all meetings, service projects, K-Family events, and inter club events, as well as any fundraisers your club conducts. It is shared with all officers for the 2021-2022 term and we ask that every club updates it once different events are completed.

Additionally, do not forget to submit the Monthly Report Form through the Membership Update Center on International's website. The International MRFs are open for May and they are due on the 5th of the month.

The District Board voted at our April 17th board meeting to approve the following District goals for the 2021-22 administrative year. We want all clubs to be aware of these goals as what we are working towards as a District. We will update all of you on our progress throughout the year and let you know of any changes.
