Setting Realistic Expectations

We're already approaching the end of the first quarter of 2020. Gifts tend to dry up in January and February, putting a lot of pressure on this month to bring in money. Although it's unrealistic to assume that you will raise 25% of your budget by the end of March (no really, it's ridiculous), you should have a good plan in place to take you into the spring.

The key to a good plan is diversity in funding sources. So if you are feeling rusty on your crowdfunding, event, major donor, or grantwriting skills, now is the time to brush on them. And of course, you can call us and we can discuss how we can support you to reach your goals this year.

Project and client updates

Whew, we finally wrapped filming for our first online course on grantwriting! The editing will be the hardest part, but we hope to have it available to all of you by April. We're also still collecting feedback on the toolkits we mentioned last month, and are setting up our website to sell them to you directly.

In client news, we helped Bernstein & Associates get out a massive mailing and are planning multiple NAGPRA consultations for the spring and summer. We had a great time wrapping our minds around some of the issues facing cannabis companies and social change for Cannabis Doing Good. Casa de Paz held its first volunteer handbook meeting and are collecting information. Colorado Doula Project is holding our next abortion doula training in March. And we're chiming in with grant feedback for the Colorado Department of Agriculture.
