Let's get together (yeah yeah yeah)

Maybe it's all talk about Valentine's Day, maybe it's Aquarius season, or maybe it's because it's been snowing for a full week in Denver and we haven't left the house, but we've been thinking an awful lot about relationships lately. We're really grateful to the relationships that we've been able to develop, not only with our clients (who are the best, obvs), but also with other small business owners who rally to support us, recommend us for gigs, and are down to grab coffee and do some co-working.

What does your community look like? Are you modeling mutually-beneficial cooperation rather than needlessly-bitchy competition? Are you asking them for support when you need it? Are you sharing your resources?

If you're struggling with this, here are some ideas on leveraging organizational partners, working with your board, and networking (without being a sleaze).

Project and client updates

Our fundraising toolkit is officially in beta! We are gathering feedback and making adjustments to share pricing and details with everyone soon. We also started filming and editing an online course about grant writing, which we hope to launch in the next few months. Both of these projects (and our Airtable template) are intended to help smaller nonprofits - who usually can't afford to hire fancy, big city consultants like us - still get the support they need in fundraising and operations.

Bernstein & Associates is super busy with new clients who are returning ancestors and sacred items to Native American Tribes - this means a lot of detailed mailings and meeting prep for us. We just started doing a bit of blogging for Cannabis Doing Good, which promotes socially responsible work on behalf of the emerging industry. Casa de Paz asked us to lead the development of their volunteer handbook and policies. If you are in Colorado and want to help reunite families who are separated by immigrant detention, you can sign up for a volunteer training here.  We're also going to start working with the Colorado Doula Project to lead their operations team. In the new year, a number of folks reached out to us about updating their LinkedIn profiles to set themselves up for a new job in 2020. Do you need some help with an upcoming project? Get in touch!
