The Reinvention of Subagreements in GMAS, January Roadshow
This is a reminder that the reinvention of subagreements in GMAS has an expected release date of February 2023. HSPH's Fishbowl Roadshow will be held in January to share an overview of the new GMAS subagreement functionality. Save the Date: January 10th, 2023, 1:00pm EST for the HSPH Roadshow. At-Risk Streamlined Account Set-up Reports
The January Streamlined Account reports will be available this week for department review. Once available, they can be accessed through your department's Post Award Metrics folder. Please record your responses by January 31st.

Upcoming Holiday: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Harvard University and NIH will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2022. Reminder: If an NIH grant application due date falls on a federal holiday, the application deadline is automatically extended to the next business day.

Draft Guidance: The Classification of Employee Fellows vs. Nonemployee Fellows
The Financial Policy Office has posted draft guidance dated 12/5/22 for the Classification of Employee Fellows vs Nonemployee Fellows (both students and nonstudents). These documents are listed as working documents with a comment period through 5/31/23.
Harvard's hope is that schools and units will test these documents over the next few months and provide feedback. The materials will be modified, and additional materials created, based on comments we receive from the Harvard community. Updated: Billing Agreement Templates and University Guidance
The Billing Agreement (BA) templates and University guidance were recently updated. The guidance details the purpose of the salary and trainee billing agreements, the requirements to establish a billing agreement, and the roles and responsibilities associated with a billing agreement. Please note: the Harvard Chan School is currently developing School-specific guidance to accompany the University guidance.

The new Harvard NIH DMSP Budgeting and Application Instructions Tip Sheet provides guidance focused on Principal Investigators (PIs) and Grants Managers (GMs) working together to complete a budget and application that include the newly required NIH Data Management and Sharing Plan (DMSP). Behavioral Codes of Conduct for NIH Award Recipients
The NIH Grants Policy Statement (GPS) was recently updated, replacing the December 2021 version as standard terms and conditions of award. Consistent with longstanding federal regulations (45 CFR 75.303), institutions receiving NIH support will now be required to have internal controls to assure compliance with terms and conditions of award. These internal controls include behavioral codes of conduct to assure safe and healthful working conditions for their employees and foster work environments conducive to high-quality research. Senior Grants Manager
Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research (CBAR)
Description: The SGM will work closely with researchers and other members of the Finance Team to design and prepare budgets, as well as assemble highly-confidential, final grant proposals. The SGM will analyze past data in preparing projections, completing required forms for new grant proposals, and completing competitive renewals and continuations for a number of different sponsors (NIH, subcontractors, and corporations).
