Dr. Park elected as a Central Body Director of the National E. H. Angle Society of Orthodontists representing the Northern California Component of the E. H. Angle Society of Orthodontists
Jae Hyun Park, DMD, MSD, MS, PhD, chair of the postgraduate orthodontic program at A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health, was recently elected to replace Immediate Past President of the National E. H. Angle Society of Orthodontists (EHASO), Dr. Ronald Champion from Edward H. Angle Northern California Orthodontic Society (NCASO).
Historically, the first-ever EHASO meeting was held in the first freestanding orthodontic college located in Dr. Angle's home. The alumni met there three months after Dr. Angle's death in November 1930, giving birth to The Angle Orthodontist and the current Angle Society. Meetings of the entire study club include all seven components (Angle East, Angle MidwestAngle North Atlantic, Angle Northern California, Angle Northwest, Angle Southern California, and Angle Southwest) and are held every two years to provide education, learning tools, and fellowship to members, thus honoring the humble spirit of Dr. Angle.

Presently, roughly 13% of Angle Society members come from outside of the United States, joining the seven regional components here in this country. Since opening its doors to the world in 2003, there has been a 10% growth in membership. People must travel great distances and make significant sacrifices to participate in this prestigious organization, a clear testimony to the value they place on this premier orthodontic study club.

Dr. Park would like to express his most profound appreciation to Dr. Ronald Champion for his service as President of the EHASO for the past two years and to the President of the NCASO, Dr. Paul Kasrovi, President-Elect, Dr. Ann Marie Gorczyca, dedicated and talented Officers and Board of Directors, and esteemed Angle Members.

If you are interested in membership in the Angle Society, please contact your regional component. Information can be found in the links below:
Angle Northwest: https://anglenorthwest.worldsecuresystems.com/
Angle Northern California: https://www.anglenorcal.org/
Angle Southern California: https://www.anglesocal.org/

We look forward to the next Angle Biennial Meeting on Sept. 21-25, 2021, as Angle East hosts you and your family at 'Wentworth by the Sea' in New Castle, New Hampshire.

My Perspective
Dr. Robert Meister, PCSO President 2019-2020
We are emerging from one of the most devastating worldwide events of the past 100 years. A global pandemic has not only taken hundreds of thousands of lives but has also brought record unemployment, failing businesses, and widespread social disruption. Most of us want to get back to work, eat out at our favorite restaurant, make weekend plans with friends, and enjoy our favorite activities. We long to get back to our practices and our routines.

Special Section: Class II Correction - PCSO Program Talk
Dr. Sohyon (Michelle) Kim, PCSO Bulletin Contributor
Class II malocclusion is a common chief complaint of orthodontic patients, affecting nearly 15% of 12- to 15-year-olds in the United States.1 There has been a lot of debate over timing and treatment modalities for Class II malocclusion, especially during the past two decades.2 One of the questions that revolve around the debate is whether two-phase Class II treatment protocols are more efficient and effective than one-phase Class II treatment protocols.

Staff Report: Analyzing, Tracking, and Preventing Repairs
Ms. Lori Garland Parker
Repairs are stripping your practice of profit, amplifying stress for you and your team, and frustrating your patients and parents! Once they begin accurately tracking all repairs, many practices find they have more rebonds than they realized because of a combination of repair visits and loose brackets found at the chair, and they are ready to do something about it.

Dr. Adam Schulhof Develops a Technology That Helps Doctors See Treatment Progress

Dr. Schulhof has developed a much-needed tool that allows orthodontists to monitor patients' progress remotely. The Grin Scope uses an intraoral adapter that retracts the cheeks and allows for a full view within the patient's mouth. The patients are then able to upload the photos to the Grin App for review.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Schulhof accelerated the product's launch with the Grin Remote Monitoring Platform which was beta tested by Dr. Schulhof's and other orthodontists.

Using instructional videos and interaction via Facetime, he has successfully coached patients on the use of the product and has had all patients, regardless of age, feel confident in providing self-administered scans that can then be reviewed by orthodontists virtually.

The Remote Monitoring Platform helps in tracking patient progress and prioritization, especially with the limited capacity that orthodontists can now see due to COVID-19 restrictions. This tool not only gives patients the flexibility that they crave but the appropriate oversite by a professional that is needed to maintain a healthy mouth.

Dr. Schulhof's company, Grin, is offering AAO orthodontists the option to try the remote monitoring solutions at no cost. This offer is limited and the deadline to apply and onboard patients is November 28, 2020.
