Dear colleagues,
I cannot let this most trying of years end without paying homage to each of you who have helped us through the ordeals of the past 9 months. I and my entire staff are extremely grateful that folks like you think enough of our Center to share your expertise, energy, and passion.
There is no value in reciting the challenges we have all faced.  I do, however, want to publicly express my sincere gratitude to each of my staff who have unselfishly given so much of themselves these past months. All of you are especially aware of the extraordinary creativity, diligence, and passion which Kate Tolliver has brought to what was her new role as coordinator and chief programmer for our center. We could not have successfully pivoted to our current programming initiatives without her. She is an invaluable colleague, as I am sure each of you - who have benefited from her fathomless competency - can attest.
As a small token of our admiration and appreciation for your contributions this year to the strengthening of our nonprofit community, in mid- January, we will be mailing you a copy of Steve Harper’s new edition of “The Ripple Effect: Maximizing the Power of Relationships for Your Life and Business”.  The book is filled with invaluable insights and practical guidance on strengthening relationships. I had the pleasure of contributing a review, which you will find in the opening pages.
FYI and not yet public: The Center for Nonprofit Studies will be rebranded as Nonprofit Austin at ACC in January. Along with the name change, we will be taking additional steps to strengthen and workforce development services and initiatives, as well as a whole new look for our website and our newsletter. In addition, we will be undertaking new initiatives to help nonprofit practitioners and organizations in the coming year; once we can physically come together again.,
We will be turning to many of you to draft articles for our soon-to-be monthly newsletter, as well as to continue to engage you as faculty for our learning opportunities and certificates.
Bottom line, I share all of this with you because we think of each one of you as part of our professional family. My staff and I wish you a most pleasant, safe, and happy holiday season.
With my deepest respect and appreciation.
