HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Thank you for supporting us this year. You attended shows and performed in them.  You provided sponsorships and shopped at the Caffé. You shared your art and helped spread the word. Happy Thanksgiving to you, from the Sweet Bee Theater.
To celebrate our theatre family this Thanksgiving, we're sending out a newsletter with all things Pittsboro Youth Theater. We'll start with Hillsborough's recent "Lights Up!" podcast.

Amari (Holes), Catherine (Mary Poppins), and Kalindi (Mary Poppins & Holes) join us and chat about the upcoming shows. Our bit starts around 40 minutes in.
Make sure you check out their full archive to listen to interviews and information about shows all over the Triangle.

Pittsboro Youth Theater

Snow White closed last weekend with a stellar second cast! Thank you to our older PYT kids for providing technical and costume support during the shows. And to our wonderful actors and actresses that we got to see grow over the past few months. Here is a review from local writer Ruth Moose:

Magic and Miracles

"If you long ago quit believing in magic, the new show at Pittsboro’s Sweet Bee Theater will bring it all back.  With such surprising beauty and amazement, you’ll think it’s the best 90 minutes you’ve ever spent.  This cast has the world’s cutest kids!  You couldn’t order kids this cute on the world’s E-Bay.  AND boy can they act!

This show (by Ari Ben-Gurion and Chanah Silver) is the world premier.  An original drama that will make you laugh (there’s a lot in the lines for adults) and heat up your hands applauding.  (Thank you Twinkle Toes!). Plus, you get drama and a plot within a plot, updating fairy tales with a cast whose names include Horse Feathers, T-Bone (a darling Dalmation,) Ace Two Face and so on.   Queen Imperia Grim knows how to ever more pitch a royal hissy fit….a skill she can use the rest of her life.  She’s perfectly dressed in red with sparkle shoes to match and boy, can she stamp those to rock the room.

Not only do you marvel at how this tiny theater space can contain all those kids, but the props!  They even spin Snow White’s coffin around on stage!  The costumes really are well done too: a red top hat?  Wherever did that come from?  This whole production...will delight and warm and lift your heart.   Bravo talented child performers.  Bravo playwright.  Bravo director, producer, sponsors.  Bravo all."

Catch the wonderful stage adaptation of the classic adolescent adventure/mystery story "Holes" by Pittsboro Youth Theater's well-experienced cast. The much loved book "Holes" was written by Louis Sachar and released by Disney as a major motion picture in 2003.

In "Holes," a boy named Stanley Yelnats is wrongfully sent to brutal camp Greenlake, where the camp warden and her staff force the children in their care to mysteriously dig holes all day long in the desert. Their rehabilitation is questioned as they discover something sinister is involved.
