Our wonderful actors at Pittsboro Youth Theater were hard at work when everything shut down 53 days ago. Our cast of Godspell was 3 weeks away from opening night.

We have continued to practice virtually. We made an inspirational virtual choir video using the song “Beautiful City” from Godspell. It is meant to inspire everyone as they rebuild their own “beautiful city” over time. It is a tribute to Pittsboro and North Carolina. It is not meant as a political statement of any kind. Please watch, subscribe, and share.

Singers and their families used cell phones to shoot their parts in their homes while social distancing.  Due to COVID-19 Pittsboro Youth Theater's family of community arts organizations ceased all in-person operations on March 15, 2020.

Please share the following YouTube link to this video with all your friends, neighbors and relatives. Pittsboro is a wonderful place, and we at Pittsboro Youth Theater and the Center for the Arts, Pittsboro need community support to return once COVID-19 subsides.

We hope to perform live in Sweet Bee Theater as soon as possible. In the meantime please visit our website soon and often for more local, original virtual performances.

Chatham Community Players

Some of our adult cast members are working on a brand new podcast - PBO R&R - which will adapt some classic radio shows for modern times. We had our first rehearsal today and are excited to share it with all of you soon!

We also hope to use this as an opportunity to partner with local businesses to raise money for our programs and publicize our business partners' services. If you know of a business that might be interested, please reach out to or call Craig at 919-533-6997.

Center for the Arts

Voting extended through May 10th: Sweet Bee Caffe is nominated for "Best Place to Buy Locally Made Art in Orange/Chatham County." Vote for us here!

In the News

"A parent will email me and say, this is the highlight of their child's week. We're trying to keep them upbeat and excited when their life is literally on hold."

Read about how we and other local arts organizations are connecting virtually in this Chatham News and Record article.

Also, did you catch us on the "Lights Up" podcast last month? If not, you can listen to it here and learn about some fun projects we are working on, including a summer musical!

Phase 1 Update

We are prioritizing the safety of our participants, patrons, and staff. Because of this, we will be doing the virtual projects above until we can safely perform a show for a live audience. We don't know exactly when this will be, but we are grateful for the continued support from CFTA families and supporters.

If you would ordinarily support us in ways that recent circumstances have changed, please consider donating the value of unenjoyed experiences to continue our financial solvency and increase the likelihood that our organization will be here when circumstances improve.
