It looks like thousands of Georgia patients are about to realize that they can no longer use their insurance for doctors they have been seeing in their Cigna network. Unfortunately, Cigna and ApolloMD were not able to work out a contractual agreement. Cigna stated the reason was due to high reimbursement rates. Patients don't often realize that the doctors they are seeing have contracts with insurance companies that differ from their hospital contracts. Starting September 1st, patients may get hit with costly bills due to over 400 physicians no longer being in their Cigna network. Is Georgia legislation making any progress to stop these surprise bills?

SC Tax Free Weekend
Sales tax can add up quickly depending on the items you're purchasing. Take advantage of the tax-free holiday August 2nd - 4th to purchase office supplies, as well as school supplies. The Department of Revenue has provided a clear list of what is exempt and not exempt this year. Find the full list here. South Carolina is one of 17 states that offer a tax-free weekend. Georgia does not due to already being among the five states with a low (4%) sales tax.
