GBH Logo Design Contest!

For Waste Reduction Week in Canada we are launching the The Gateway Bicycle Hub Logo contest for Flemingdon and Thorncliffe residents!

The winner will see their logo on all our promotional materials, and receive a certificate and a Gateway Bicycle Hub-refurbished bike!

Can you incorporate bikes, bike repair, waste reduction, empowerment, and community building through cycling initiatives into a logo? We’d love to see it!

The contest deadline is Friday November 15th at midnight.

Please see for a fill list of the contest guidelines.

We are looking forward to seeing your logo ideas!

Learn to Mountain Bike

On Friday, September 27, the Gateway Bicycle Hub held their first mountain bike ride for Flemingdon and Thorncliffe residents.

Five adventurous youth ventured into the vast network of Don Valley trails, getting the full experience of what it is like to be a mountain biker! Partnering with Evergreen Brickworks, everyone got to ride a Kona Fire Mountain bike for the day and it was a great time.

In the three hour excursion, they learned basic mountain bike skills on how to climb efficiently, descend faster, and staying under control. A fun filled day was had by all.

GBH aims to have more of these rides in the fall (weather permitting) so if you’re interested in participating, send an email to or call us at 416-551-2011

Learn to Ride

The Gateway Bicycle Hub held its first learn-to-ride lesson on Saturday, October 19.

It was a  beautiful sunny day at the Marc Garneau Collegiate running track, in which two young children got to ride on two wheels for their very first time! There were smiles all around, and something that GBH wishes to host more often for both adults and children.

We are looking to host more learn-to-rides in the upcoming weeks, so if you or someone you know is interested please email or call 416-551-2011 and we will register you!

Earn-A-Bike is Back!

After a brief hiatus, the Earn-A-Bike (EAB) program is back after a successful ‘parents’ session on October 19, 2019

Eight parents were able to refurbish donated or abandoned bikes for their own children. The Gateway Bicycle Hub instructors were very proud of the final products that were ridden out the door and of course the happy smiles throughout!

We are looking to host more of these EABs, so go to our website for more information or contact us at or 416-551-2011
