EMS Robotics Club Crowns Sumo Bot Champions
The EMS Robotics Club recently hosted the Sumo Bot Challenge Competition among the club teams. Teams 47M and 47P tied in the final round, and both won the title of Sumo Bot Champions.
Congratulations to Tycho Green, Yan Levin & Iyan Golla from Team 47M, and Cael Weber & Aiden Vanhaltren from Team 47P!

WA State PTA Convention—Be Our Voting Delegate!
 The Washington State PTA is hosting its annual convention and conference in person from May 20–22 in Lynnwood. WSPTACON includes speakers, seminars, workshops, discussions, social events and much more.
If you are an EMS PTSA member and you are interested in being one of our voting delegates at WSPTACON, email president@evergreenptsa.org. The convention registration deadline is next Thursday, May 12 at noon.

Each year, Evergreen PTSA recognizes volunteers and educators who have given outstanding service to our children and school community by presenting them with honors such as the Golden Acorn, Outstanding Advocate and Outstanding Educator awards. [ award descriptions] Being nominated by peers to receive an award is a huge testament to our volunteers' and educators' contributions, so we invite you to participate in this special tradition by submitting a nomination form.

EMS Students' Reflections Exhibit Open Until May 17
 Evergreen students' entries in the 2021-2022 Reflections contest are on exhibition in the EMS Library until May 17. Also, check out our talented artists' pieces in our e-gallery.
Additionally, artwork by four EMS students whose Reflections entries were honored at the Lake Washington PTSA Council level is available to enjoy in LWPTSA's Reflections e-gallery. You can find these EMS artists' work there as follows:

EMS 8th Grade Celebration 2022
 To honor our excellent Evergreen 8th graders, we will hold a virtual celebration on Wednesday, June 8 at 6 pm via Teams. A link will be sent to 8th grade families as we near this date. We are excited to celebrate with you!
Parents, watch your email in the coming weeks for info about class T-shirts, student talent act submissions for the celebration video, and the photo slideshow (see below). We will share details about 8th Grade Fun Day as well!
Submitting Baby & Current Photos for Slideshow
Students are invited to submit one baby photo (from birth—age 5) and one current/special interest photo to be included in the celebration slideshow.
- To submit, you must be logged into your student's LWSD account.
- Confirm with your child that the photos are OK to share in the slideshow.
- Name each photo file as LAST NAME_FIRST NAME followed by 1 or 2 (example: Miller_Trisha1.jpg and Miller_Trisha2.jpg).
- Submissions are due Friday, May 27. This is a firm deadline.

 To recognize School Lunch Hero Day tomorrow, Friday, May 6, LWSD invites you to take a moment to show our Nutrition Services team members how much they're appreciated! [ more on School Lunch Hero Day]
Some ideas to help make this day special for Evergreen's lunch heroes:
- Ask your student to personally tell their lunch heroes how much they appreciate them.
- Write a thank you note, or make a card, poster or banner.
