Free Screening of 'Far From the Tree' Documentary
LWSD and LWPTSA present a free movie at home: Far From the Tree is a moving documentary about families raising kids whom society deems different. Tracking their challenges and triumphs, the film asks viewers to rethink what it means to be "normal." (For more on content and age recommendations, visit Common Sense Media.)

The Washington State PTA (WSPTA) is offering these free student programs:
WSPTA Essay Contest (grades K–12) — Students are invited to write about a real-life role model who has had a profound impact on their lives. [details here]
WSPTA Game Development Contest (grades 6–12) — Individuals or teams of students are invited to develop either a computer game or a board game. This year's theme is Changing the World. [details here]
