EMS PTSA and Studio East Proudly Present: Beauty and the Beast Jr.: March 24 & 25, 2023 live on stage at Redmond High School's Performing Arts Center. Mandatory parent meeting on January 24.
 

Our Theater Program Is Open for Registration

Curtain up! Light the lights! EMS PTSA is thrilled to welcome our theater program back to Evergreen! Along with Studio East's ArtReach program, we are excited to bring the classic story of Beauty and the Beast to the stage.

The cost of this program is $200. The first 50 students to register in this no-cut program will be cast in either a main role, a supporting role or in the ensemble. Registration is required to audition. For more details and to register, please visit our Theater Club page. Parents are expected to volunteer for a committee (costumes, concessions, etc.) as well as chaperone two rehearsals minimum.

  • Mandatory parent information meeting: Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 7 pm
  • Auditions: After school on Monday, Feb. 6 and Tuesday, Feb. 7
  • Visit Theater Club page for all rehearsal dates and performance dates

This giving season, please don't forget your PTSA!

Evergreen PTSA's fundraising drive is live from now until the end of the year. Everyone who makes a donation by December 31 will be entered into a prize drawing. We will award $25 Starbucks gift cards to three lucky winners! Winners will be announced the week of January 3.

How does our PTSA use donations? The majority of donations go to support school, student and family engagement, which includes things such as classroom grants; teacher stipends (for Eagle Time planning); scholarships and InvestED; student planners; WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) leadership; emergency preparedness; 8th grade celebration; advocacy and so much more!

STARTS THIS WEEK'Tis the season!

Bellevue Ice Rink Fundraiser

Starting this Friday, November 18, you can help raise money to support EMS PTSA when you skate at the Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink. Just mention Evergreen Middle School PTSA when you pay admission at the rink, and a $3 donation will be made to our PTSA, which will help fund services and programs that benefit our students!

Evergreen Middle School's lost and found closet is full of misplaced and forgotten clothing, lunch bags and containers (bonus: unfinished lunch!), water bottles, umbrellas and much, much more!

If your student has come home missing any of their belongings, please have them make a trip to the office to check the lost and found, or parents may also come take a look as well. [Click photo to enlarge if you'd like to take a sneak peek at the treasures you might find.]

Lunch Volunteers NeededVolunteers needed

Are you looking for a quick volunteer opportunity and curious about what goes on during lunch period? Our principals are seeking parent help to supervise both A and B lunches. There's no sign-up. Parents can simply show up and sign in at the front office. Make sure to grab a visitor's badge and a vest! Volunteers must be LWSD-approved and COVID-vaccine-verified.

The daily lunch schedule is as follows:

  • M, T, TH, F10:59 to 11:29 am and 11:52 am to 12:22 pm
  • W10:40 to 11:10 am and 11:25 to 11:55 am

Puerto Rico Service-Learning Trip
for 8th Grade Students

This six-day trip to Puerto Rico is an amazing opportunity for your student to learn more about our country, gain new perspectives, get out of their comfort zone, and build skills for the future through service learning. The trip includes:

  • Sightseeing
  • Environmental service-learning work, including removal of invasive species, and reforestation of mangroves or construction of greenhouses
  • Salsa-dancing lesson
  • Cooking lesson
  • Kayak tour
  • Educational program at Hacienda 8A, and more

Lake Washington PTSA Council Special Education GroupKids Do Well If They Can—
A Special Opportunity for Parents

Lake Washington PTSA Council's Special Education Group invites you to join the Seattle Special Education PTSA, Arc of King County, and other local nonprofits for an evening with clinical psychologist and New York Times best-selling author Dr. Ross Greene.

Dr. Greene will explain Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS) as a way of supporting all learners so they can access their education. CPS provides an alternative to discipline practices that often create barriers for students in our schools. A Q&A will follow Dr. Greene's presentation. This event is free.

Community Service Opportunities for Kids

Kids Coming Together community service events are great opportunities for students in grades 3–8 Kids Coming Togetherto meet new friends and connect with their community. Mandatory Parent Info Meeting

Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7 pm — EMS Library

Ski Bus is returning to EMS for the winter 2023 season. ALL Evergreen parents interested in learning more about this incredible opportunity must attend this informational meeting. Owners of WebbSki will be in attendance to answer all questions. Has your student never skied before? Just curious? This meeting is for you! Parents of returning students: You need to come, too.

WebbSki will explain the whole program and will have sign-up and payment available for those wanting to commit that night. Not ready to commit? Sign-ups continue through December or until all spots are filled. Absolutely cannot make the meeting? Contact Webbski directly: webbski.com.


Ski Bus is a private program operated by WebbSki, run independently from and not affiliated with EMS PTSA, Evergreen Middle School and LWSD.
