Bellevue Ice Rink Fundraiser

Starting November 18, you can help raise money to support EMS PTSA when you skate at the Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink. Just mention Evergreen Middle School PTSA when you pay admission at the rink, and a $3 donation will be made to our PTSA, which will help fund our services and programs that benefit our school and our students!

October PTSA Membership Meeting Recap

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first EMS PTSA membership meeting on October 18. Meeting minutes are now available. During our meeting, our members:

• updated and approved our mission and goals, standing rules (PDF) and revised budget (PDF)
• appointed our financial review committee: Ramesh Seela, Abhishek Agarwal and Dhiraj Sapru

Thank you to these parent volunteers for serving on this committee for the 2022-2023 school year! We are still seeking three volunteers to serve on our nominating committee, as well as an executive vice president and a VP of advocacy. Find Your Student's Lost Items!

Evergreen Middle School's lost and found closet is full of misplaced and forgotten clothing, lunch bags and containers (bonus: unfinished lunch!), water bottles, umbrellas and much, much more!

If your student has come home missing any of their belongings, please have them make a trip to the office to check the lost and found, or parents may also come take a look as well. [Click photo to enlarge if you'd like to take a sneak peek at the treasures you might find.]

Lunch Volunteers Needed

Are you looking for a quick volunteer opportunity and curious about what goes on during lunch period? Our principals are seeking parent help to supervise both A and B lunches. There's no sign-up. Parents can simply show up and sign in at the front office. Make sure to grab a visitor's badge and a vest! Volunteers must be LWSD-approved and COVID-vaccine-verified.

The daily lunch schedule is as follows:

• M, T, TH, F — 10:59 to 11:29 am and 11:52 am to 12:22 pm
• W — 10:40 to 11:10 am and 11:25 to 11:55 am

Sustainability Opportunities

The City of Redmond is offering free sustainable-living sessions. Most sessions will run online, but the game night will take place at the Redmond Library.

• Sustainable Living Game Night: November 9 (at Redmond Library)
• Sustainable Kitchen: November 16
• Waste-Free Giving: November 30
• Recycling and Disposing of Unusual Items: December 5

Pantry Packs Fall Food Drive

The Pantry Packs program is hosting its annual fall food drive! You can help feed hungry students in our community through one of two ways:

• Donate food through Pantry Packs' Amazon Wish List.
• Drop off food donations on November 16 or 19, from 10 am to 2 pm, at the Pantry Packs warehouse, located at 14816 NE 95th St., Bldg. 6, Redmond WA (see "most-wanted" kid-friendly food list).

Evergreen Ski Bus:
Mandatory Parent Info Meeting

Ski Bus is returning to EMS for the winter 2023 season. ALL Evergreen parents interested in learning more about this incredible opportunity must attend this informational meeting. Owners of WebbSki will be in attendance to answer all questions. Has your student never skied before? Just curious? This meeting is for you! Parents of returning students: You need to come, too.

WebbSki will explain the whole program and will have sign-up and payment available for those wanting to commit that night. Not ready to commit? Sign-ups continue through December or until all spots are filled. Absolutely cannot make the meeting? Contact Webbski directly: webbski.com.

Ski Bus is a private program operated by WebbSki, run independently from and not affiliated with EMS PTSA, Evergreen Middle School and LWSD.
