Get Involved
Apply to be a volunteer at Evergreen Middle School, or renew your volunteer approval status today! Whether you plan to volunteer with EMS PTSA or as a general school volunteer, your approval in Lake Washington School District (LWSD) must be renewed every two years.
LWSD requires that all volunteers be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (both doses of a two-dose series or one dose of a single-dose vaccine), or request exemption. Visit LWSD's website for more information.

Will You Join EMS PTSA for Your Child?
Join Evergreen Middle School PTSA in providing support and enrichment to our students and staff. By joining as a member or renewing your annual membership, you give the PTSA a stronger voice in advocating for your child, and you help provide valuable support of our school and activities.
Becoming a member does not mean you need to volunteer or come to meetings. By being involved at your child’s school through membership, you'll be part of the solution, helping to make positive changes.
It is a fact that kids do better when families are engaged in their learning. Become a member, or renew your annual membership!

It's Time to Pass the Hat
It's quick and easy to support your school—just click here to donate. Every dollar contributed to Pass the Hat, Evergreen PTSA's primary fundraiser, goes directly to support the services and programs offered by the PTSA.
Our suggested donation is $100 per student, but we are grateful to receive donations of any amount. Don't forget corporate matching, if your employer participates! Every dollar counts, and all contributions are greatly appreciated!
Your donations to Evergreen Middle School PTSA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, are tax-deductible.

We Want You on Our Team!
Our PTSA board has open positions for this school year, and we'd love to have you join us! You'll be part of a welcoming and passionate group of volunteers who collaborate to enrich our students' experiences at EMS. Our open board roles are:
- Executive Vice President
- Vice President of Advocacy
We're also looking for volunteers to lend a hand on our financial review, awards and nominating committees, and as theater producers. Please reach out to Manda Mangrai, our PTSA president, to learn more about any of these roles. We can't wait to meet you!

FYI
What Is LEAP Wednesday?
This week we begin our 1.5-hour-early release schedule on Wednesdays, also known in LWSD as LEAP Wednesdays, when EMS students are dismissed at 1:25 pm instead of 2:55. Throughout the school year, you will also find LEAP Days, which are days when students have no school, on the LWSD calendar.
LEAP stands for Learning Enhancement Academic Planning. This is curriculum planning and professional training time for our teachers and educators that is built into each academic year.
